Fenton receives 50 laptops, LAN cards from Wynndalco Enterprises Fenton High School graciously accepted a donation of 50 new laptops and two LAN carts from Wynndalco Enterprises, a Mokena-based information technology company with offices in several states. The laptops will primarily go to economically fragile families, beginning with families that participate in Fenton’s Padres Unidos parent group for Latino families. Fenton Superintendent James Ongtengco said parents and other family members are vital partners in education, but the global pandemic has made it difficult for some of them to keep pace with the technological growth their children are experiencing in their Remote Learning classes. “These computers will better allow parents to log into our platforms to monitor grades, and family units as a whole to do school activities together,” Ongtengco said. “Wynndalco understands the situation, they understand the devices we use, they understand the connectivity issues. What a generous gift to humanity.” David Andalcio, founder and Chief Executive Officer of Wynndalco Enterprises, lives in DuPage County and contacted members of the county board to offer the donation. “We are thrilled to have been able to support Fenton in this manner, because Wynndalco has deep roots in the public school community in Illinois and across the United States,” Andalcio said. “Probably better than most, Wynndalco Enterprises understands what a challenge it’s been to pivot to distance learning and ensure the technology necessary for students to succeed is not only available but up to the task in terms of hardware and software capabilities. And as Fenton serves 1,500 diverse students in terms of ethnic and financial backgrounds, we are grateful for the opportunity to give back to such
a great, wide-reaching local school.” School on August 28. Andalcio, his family, and Chief Greg Hart, District 3 County Operating Officer Jose Flores deliv- Board Member, and Darlene Ruscitered the equipment to Fenton High ti, DuPage County Regional Super-
intendent of Schools, recommended Fenton as the recipient. Hart, Ruscitti, as well as County Board Chairman Dan Cronin, District 1 County Board
member Don Puchalski, and Choose DuPage CEO Greg Bedalov were in Bensenville to thank the Wynndalco representatives.
