Police report four death threat incidents
In this week’s Bensenville Police blotter, there were four separate reports by victims saying someone had threatened to kill them. The first incident took place at about 11 p.m. on Monday, Sept. 10 on the 100 block of W. Irving Park, where a victim reported that an unknown suspect driving a silver Acura had chased her down Irving Park Road all the way from Mannheim Road, after shining a flashlight into the victim’s vehicle and threatening to kill her. The case is under investigation. On Wednesday, Sept. 12 at about 8:25 a.m., police responded to the 600 block of Thomas Drive, where a victim reported that a coworker asked a third person for a rifle so that he could kill the victim. Police contacted the coworker, and the allegations were denied. This case remains under investigation. At 3:37 p.m. also on Sept. 12, police were summoned to the 1200 block of N. Ellis St., where a victim said a coworker approached him in the parking lot, stating that he was going to kill the victim. This case is also pending further investigation. Later on Wednesday, at 7:18 p.m., a victim in the 600 block of E. George St. reported that her husband violated an order of protection by threatening to kill her over the phone. This case is pending investigation. More police reports can be found on page 4.

Bensenville Fire Department awarded ‘Run of the Month’
Personnel at Bensenville fire department were recently recognized for the care they gave to an 82-yearold man who was experiencing chest pain on March 5. The patient was transported to Elmhurst Hospital’s Emergency Department (ED) for further treatment. Additional testing
showed he had 85 percent blockage in a coronary artery, which was treated with the insertion of a stent. The patient was discharged three days later. In the “Run of the Month” program, Elmhurst Hospital’s EMS Team reviews ambulance runs by pre-hospital providers and selects one
to be recognized based on the following criteria: • Excellent communication from the field that resulted in the timely delivery of pertinent clinical information to the Elmhurst Hospital Emergency Department staff; • Clear and thorough documenta-
tion; • Superior clinical assessment skills that resulted in accurate recognition of a clinical situation; • Behavior exceeding the call of duty in the field; • Superior partnership and teamwork with Elmhurst Hospital.
