Bensenville Library announces upcoming events
The Life and Legend of Robert Johnson by Fruteland Jackson Sunday, June 26 at 2:00 p.m. This lecture/performance gives audiences insight into the life and times of Robert Johnson. Fruteland Jackson uses storytelling to bring the legend of Robert Johnson to clear view. Robert Johnson was a key player in the development of Delta Blues, and its link to Chicago Style blues (urban blues) is discussed and celebrated through his compositions. Homage is also paid to his mentors, influences and teachers. The myth and mystery surrounding his death and the legacy of his music are highlighted. Features selected songs of Robert Johnson. Book Bingo – NEW! Do you enjoy bingo and books? Come to the Library and try your hand at winning books and other book related prizes! Play bingo with other patrons and enjoy complimentary refreshments. Book Bingo will be held at 7:00 p.m. on the following evenings: June 28, July 26, August 30.

Monday Morning Matinees Join the library every Monday at 11:00 a.m. at the Bensenville Theatre for Monday Morning Matinees. Each week we will feature a classic film your kids may have missed seeing on the big screen. Theatre opens at 10:30 a.m. Admission to the show is free. Bensenville Fire Department personnel attended to this vehicle that caught fire near the intersection of Route 83 and Foster Avenue early last Thursday afternoon. The blaze caused southbound traffic to be backed up for several miles.
