Village of Bensenville swears in new board members New village president, trustees and clerk sworn in on May 9
On May 9, the Village of Bensenville held a ceremony to swear in the new additions to the village board. After last month’s election, the community elected a new Village President, Frank DeSimone, three new Trustees, Ann Franz, Armando Perez and McLane Lomax, and a new Village Clerk, Nancy Quinn. The ceremony took place at the Village Hall Board Room where Judge Patrick O’Shea swore in the new members, marking the transfer of power and the officials first day in their new roles. “The previous Village elected officials put so much time and effort in to help this town throughout their tenure, and much was accomplished during that time,” said Frank DeSimone, President of the Village of
Bensenville. “I and the new members of the Village Board have a lot of great ideas to help this town continue to grow and be the best place to live, work and raise a family, and we are excited to get started. The Village of Bensenville and its residents have a lot to look forward to.” New Village President Frank DeSimone has lived in Bensenville for over a decade, has over 17 years experience in law enforcement and spent the past two years as a Village Trustee. All three of the new Trustees are established residents and active members of the Bensenville community, bringing strong, diverse qualifications to the Board. Ann Franz is passionate about community safety and is committed member of the Bensenville Neighborhood Watch
program. She also is very active with O’Hare aviation committees, relaying Bensenville residents’ concerns. Armando Perez has served as a Director on the Bensenville Chamber of Commerce since 2012 and strives to make Bensenville more business-friendly. McLane Lomax is a commissioner of the Bensenville Community Development Committee and is dedicated to ensuring a bright future for all of Bensenville’s children and families. Nancy Quinn,
the new Village Clerk, is dedicated to the local schools, serving on the School District 2 Board for 13 years and leading education initiatives to improve programs. The Board of Trustees, along with the Village President, work together to create a strategic direction for the Village performing duties such as passing resolutions and ordinances, approving the expenditure of money, levying taxes, approving land use regulations such as zoning, and deal-
ing with any other issues that may affect residents and the town. The Village’s governing body consists of six Trustees, a Clerk and a President. Current Board of Trustee members, Rosa Carmona and Agnieszka “Annie” Jaworska, have two years remaining on their term, and will work alongside the three new Trustees. There is currently a vacant Trustee spot that will be filled shortly through an appointment by President DeSimone.
