Bensenville man admits lying about being stabbed, gives false information

On March 14, according to the Elmhurst Police Department, officers responded for the report of a subject who said he had been stabbed in the 500 block of S. York at around 9:28 p.m. According to police, Santos Cardona, 44, of Bensenville, admitted to officers that he was not stabbed but had pulled out an IV. He also provided officers with a false name and date of birth. After learning of Cardona’s true identity, he was found to have a valid warrant from the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office, police said. He was charged with obstructing identification.
