Bensenville earns ‘SolSmart Silver’ designation for advancing solar energy growth

The Village of Bensenville recently received the Silver designation from the national SolSmart program for making it faster, easier, and more affordable for homes and businesses to go solar. This designation recognizes the Village of Bensenville for taking bold steps to encourage solar energy growth and remove obstacles to solar development. For companies looking to expand, a SolSmart Silver designation is a signal that Bensenville is “open for solar business.” SolSmart is led by the Interstate Renewable Energy Council (IREC) and the International City/County Management Association (ICMA)

Standing under the flags of America and Ukraine, this group of neighbors came out Sunday, March 6 to the home of Alexa and Jason Umbs to show support for Ukraine as Russia continues its invasion. Alexa has many relatives living in Ukraine, in fact, one once served as Finance Director for the country. “I just couldn’t cry in front of the television news anymore,” Alexa said. “I had to do something.” Enlisting the support of her neighbors, she collected ribbons for trees and yellow and blue lightbulbs for porch lights.
