Driver in fatal accident charged with failure to yield to a pedestrian BENSENVILLE — On October 28, the Bensenville Police Department charged Zehrudin Livadic, 51 years of age, of Melrose Park with one count of failure to yield to a pedestrian on the sidewalk. It is alleged that he was driving the gray F250 pick-up truck that struck Modesta De La Rosa, 86 years of age, of Bensenville while the vehicle turned right from an exit onto Irving Park Road from a Dunkin’ Donuts located on the south side of the 1000 block of West Irving Park Road on October 23. The vehicle was stopped at the exit for about two minutes before making the right turn. The vehicle continued east from the scene of the crash without stopping. Modesta De La Rosa was walking west on the sidewalk in front of the exit when she was struck. She was subsequently pronounced dead from her injuries at the Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. From watching the Dunkin’ Donuts surveillance camera videos, investigators discovered that a truck matching the offender’s vehicle regularly came to the Dunkin’ Donuts at around the same time each day.
