DuPage County elects ‘Flat Tax’ over alternative Mazzochi retains seat; Casten beats Ives; Lewis wins over Pappas

At 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 4, with 100% of precincts reporting, the Presidential race had already been declared for Joe Biden in the state of Illinois by many national media outlets. Still the final tally across the nation was not complete at that time.

Village provides additional relief to local restaurants, small businesses

In an effort to provide additional relief to Bensenville restaurants and small businesses, Village President Frank DeSimone and the Village Board of Trustees will temporarily reduce the cost of liquor license renewals by 50 percent for 2021. In addition, there is no increase to property taxes in Bensenville’s 2021 budget. “COVID-19 has presented many financial hurdles for business owners in Bensenville and across the nation during the last eight months,” said Village President Frank DeSimone. “While we know this is a challenging time for everyone, we are committed to supporting our local small businesses and restaurants more than ever. We hope the liquor renewal fee reduction and holding property taxes flat will provide some much needed relief while we continue the fight against COVID-19.”
