Boy Scout presents flag retirement box at Village Hall On Tuesday, Oct, 16, Alex Whyte presented an American flag retirement box to Village President Frank DeSimone at Bensenville Village Hall. The box was created out of a refurbished evidence box provided by the Bensenville Police Department. Alex first came across the idea online and thought it would be a great project for his community. After contacting Bensenville Police Chief Frank Kosman and obtaining the box, he removed the old paint and markings. Needing to paint and decal the box, he turned to Bensenville Chamber of Commerce President Pete Gallagher, who was able to connect Alex with Thomas Stiefbold, owner of O’Hare Auto Body, and Jugnu Shah, owner of Precise Digital Printing Inc. in Bensenville. O’Hare Auto Body assisted in giving the box a fresh coat of paint and Precise Digital Printing placed the final additions on it with America’s national bird, the bald eagle. Alex belongs to Boy Scout Troop 65 and is currently a freshman at College of DuPage where he studies criminal justice. Alex showed his thanks to those who helped him by saying, “I would like to especially thank Pete Gallagher and Frank Kosman for their help in making this project possible.” “It’s a pleasure to see the Chamber of Commerce and the business community step up to help Alex complete his project,” said Village President Frank DeSimone. “The completion of this flag retirement box is a great example of how people who live and work in Bensenville are always willing to help one another.” The flag retirement box is now available at Bensenville Village Hall, SUBMITTED PHOTO Bensenville Independent 12 S.
