Village breaks ground on new dispatch center
Addison providing service to 14 other agencies so far
already receive services through the Addison Police Department’s dispatch center. The 20,000 square-foot, state-ofthe-art facility will be capable of backing up all of the DuPage County 911 System Public Safety Answering Points, Village officials said.
Other features: • The building is designed to resist EF4 tornadoes and wind speeds of 166 to 200 mph. • Redundancy and uninterruptable power systems will ensure that the facility is operational at all times, no
matter the situation. • The building will house the Village of Addison’s Emergency Operations Center. • The facility offers training facilities for Village staff. This is the third expansion of dispatch services by the Addison Police
Department, since it took over dispatching for Bensenville in 2010. The new building was designed by FGM Architects, and will be constructed by Carlson Construction. One official said the project was expected to be completed by the end of 2017.
