Addison to receive County Stormwater Management ARPA grant

DuPage County’s Stormwater Management Department accepted grant proposals from municipalities for flood control and water quality projects countywide. provide a 50/50 cost-share of up to $500,000 per awarded project. The grant encourages projects that build resilience and offer strong multi-jurisdictional and multi-purpose benefits. This grant program will distribute an estimated $8 million of that funding. Among the grant recipients is the Village of Addison for the LaLonde-Diversey Avenue Drainage Project, which has a cost estimate of $400,000. The requested grant share is $200,000.

Rock ‘N Wheels presents 26-piece orchestra with ‘Ides of March’ One man’s long-time dream comes to fruition Thursday

As usual, on a Thursday evening in the summer, this week’s Rock ‘N Wheels event will bring free musical entertainment amid a flurry of other activities and attractions to the Addison Village Green behind Addison Village Hall at One Friendship Plaza for residents to enjoy. The difference this week is that on Thursday, June 16, there will be a 26-piece orchestra joining the musical group “The Ides of March,” which will perform at 8 p.m., following Joe Kalish, who will take the 95.9 FM River Stage at 6:30 p.m. This exclusive evening of entertainment is free and open to the public. A rock band performing with an

orchestra has been a long-time dream of Angelo Sorce, who happens to be the special events coordinator for the Village of Addison. Thursday’s event is titled “The Ides of March… With Strings Attached.” “I have been on a mission to combine an orchestra with a rock band for three years now,” Sorce told the Addison Independent. “It was to be kicked off with a Moody Blues tribute band from Ohio. I had the backing of the [Addison] Village Board and the funding but between the lead singer of [the band] Time Travelers falling gravely ill, then COVID-19 canceling [the 2020 season] and finally, the passing of the Time Travel-
