Mayor announces appointment of Village Manager Deputy Police Chief Maranowicz takes the helm effective May 4

while staying here in Addison,” Maranowicz said. “I have big shoes to fill, but I appreciate the Mayor’s and Village Board’s openness to new ideas. I’m looking forward to working with the whole staff.”
Mayor Rich Veenstra was expected to appoint recently retired Deputy Police Chief Joseph Maranowicz as Addison’s new Village Manager. Approval was to be confirmed by the Village Board at the meeting held Monday, May 4. “This marks a new beginning for our staff and for our community,” Veenstra said. “Joe Maranowicz has the leadership qualities and the vision we need moving forward.”

Maranowicz is a 20-year veteran of the Addison Police Department and has served as Deputy Police Chief of the Support Services Division since May 2014. He has a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from DeVry University and a Master’s degree from Lewis University in Public Safety Administration. Maranowicz succeeds Joe Block who retired more than a year ago after 32 years with the Village of Addison. At that time, Mayor Veenstra announced his intention to take his
