Former student accused of threatening teacher at Addison’s Lincoln Academy
DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert Berlin and Addison Director of Police Bill Hayden announced last week that a former Lincoln Academy student has been accused of threatening a teacher at the Addison school. The juvenile appeared at a detention hearing last Thursday where Judge Anthony Coco ordered that he be placed on home detention. It is alleged that on April 11, 2018, at approximately 7:55 a.m., the 14-year-old juvenile called the school and threatened to shoot one of the staff members stating, “He is going to get it today, right in the head.”

Upon receiving the alleged call, authorities at the school contacted the Addison Police Department. Through their investigation, Addison police officers identified the juvenile as a suspect. He was taken into custody without incident from his home yesterday afternoon. “Any threat of violence aimed at a school will immediately be investigated and if found credible, will be charged accordingly,” Berlin said. “Teachers can’t teach and students can’t learn if they are in fear for their safety while at school.
