Bond set at $3 million for Lombard woman accused of murdering mother DuPage County State’s Attorney Robert B. Berlin and Lombard Chief of Police Roy Newton announced last week that bond had been set for a Lombard woman accused of killing her mother. Stephanie DeFalco, 28, of 197 Grace Street, appeared at a bond hearing, where Judge Jeffrey MacKay set bond at $3 million with 10% to apply. DeFalco has been charged with one
count of First Degree Murder. According to Berlin’s office, on March 20, 2018, at approximately 6:25 p.m., officers with the Lombard Police Department responded to a call at 197 Grace Street. Upon their arrival, officers found the victim, Judith DeFalco, 61, deceased in her bedroom. An investigation into the death conducted by the Lombard Police Department led to
Stephanie DeFalco who was taken into custody the following day. It is alleged that some point in time on March 20, 2018, Stephanie and Judith DeFalco were both home when an argument began. It is alleged that the argument turned physical and that Stephanie DeFalco Strangled her mother to death. It is further alleged that after murdering her mother, DeFalco stole her mother’s
phone, jewelry and car and fled the scene. “Judith’s surviving family and friends have suffered a devastating loss and to them I offer my sincerest condolences,” Berlin said. “What makes this case particularly difficult is that the defendant is victim’s own daughter. So now, as the DeFalco family says goodbye to Judith, I wish them strength and

courage as they find themselves looking at a family member accused of her murder.” DeFalco’s next court appearance is scheduled for April 6, 2018, in front of Judge Jeffrey MacKay for arraignment. Members of the public are reminded that these complaints contain only charges and are not proof of the defendant’s guilt.
