The fundraiserwas initiated and led bya Year6 student, Rose, aspartofour student initiative program and saw studentsdress upasnurses, paramedics, firefighters, teachers, parents, and schoolcrossingsupervisors tohonourthe many peopleand professions who carefor usand our communities

Our Year12Healthand Human Development students volunteered inFairShare Australia’s Schools inthe Kitchen program, joining a wider network of volunteerstocooknutritiousmeals for Victorianswho havelimited ornoaccesstofood
Duringtheir visit tothe FareShare kitchen in Abbotsford, our studentsworkedwiththe FareShare teamtoprepare and cookovera thousandchicken sausage rolls and preparedthe filling for 1200egg and bacon pies, which werelater packedbythe FareShare teamtobedonated and distributed
SouthernCross Grammar’s involvement inthe FareShare initiativewas madepossiblethankstoour local and schoolcommunity’s kindnessand generosity. Intotal $323inmonetarydonations were donated tothe cause including giftcards sponsored byour local Coles and Woolworths, withtinnedfoods and non-perishableitems alsodonated bystudents, parents, and staff tofurther support FareShare.
Our staff are important members ofour schoolcommunity. Our commitmentto buildingour staffingwellbeing capacityremains strong, witha greater focus on being abletooffer higherlevelsofsupport for studentsand their familiesina pastoraland operational ability.
All staff, bothteachingand nonteaching, havecurrent Working with ChildrenCertificatesand Level 2 First Aid training. All members ofthe teachingstaff, mostwithpost-graduate qualifications, are registeredwiththe Victorian Institute ofTeaching.
In2022, weemployed70.9FTE teachingstaff and 26.00 FTE nonteachingstaff. The average attendance ratefor teachersin2022was 96.5%. 8 teachers (6 70 FTE) from2022are not returning in2023
