TRANSFER SCHOLARSHIPS Outstanding Community College Scholarship (Missouri) Value: $3,000 Eligibility: Community college presidents in the Southeast service region may nominate two students transferring to Southeast in the fall semester. Nominees must have 24+ transferable credit hours and a 3.5 cumulative transfer GPA. Contact your financial aid office to determine your school’s eligibility. How to Apply: Community college president should submit a letter of recommendation to Student Financial Services by March 1.

Scholarship recipients must sign and return scholarship award agreements to receive payment for the scholarship award. 3. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full time (minimum 12 hours per ­semester) to receive payment for the scholarship award. 4. The total amount of aid received from federal, state, institutional and other sources may not exceed the University-­ established cost of attendance. Therefore, scholarship award amounts may be ­subject to reduction. 5. Scholarships are available to students who attend secondary or post­ secondary schools accredited by a ­recognized agency such as the state departments of ­education or North Central ­Association. 6. Students who do not meet scholarship renewal criteria for the upcoming aca­ demic year may request reinstatement of the scholarship after completing the subsequent fall, spring and/or summer semester without scholarship. Student must complete both the same number of hours and attain the Southeast ­cumulative GPA that was initially required for ­scholarship renewal to be ­eligible for ­reinstatement.

Beginning Freshmen

Eligibility:

1. Academic scholarships are awarded to reg­ ularly admitted beginning freshmen at the time of admission (no separate application required) and are for fall and spring semesters only, unless otherwise stated. Note: The early admission consideration and scholarship guarantee deadline is December 1 for ­Governor’s, Regents’ and President’s; March 1 for University and all other scholarships. 2. Cumulative GPA requirements are based on a 4.0 scale at the end of six or seven semesters. Eighth semester grades are not considered for scholarship eligibility. 3. The December national ACT/SAT test dates are the final dates used for Governor’s, Regents’ and President’s Scholarship ­consideration. February test dates are the final dates used for all other scholarships.

Value:

1. The Governor’s and Regents’ scholarships pay incidental fees for the equivalent of 30 South­ east credit hours per academic year (15 hours per fall and spring s­ emesters). In addition, the Governor’s Scholarship covers general fees for 30 hours and a community-style (double occupancy) room with a 15-meal plan. 2. The full value of the President’s, University and Midwest Achievement Award is applied toward incidental fees. 3. Students receive the highest award for which they qualify. Awards are adjusted as new official test scores are received. 4. Academic scholarship values are reduced when a student enrolls at a Southeast regional campus. Governor’s will be reduced

to actual incidental, general, tech/maintenance fee charges (housing component of scholarship is forfeited); Regents’ will be reduced to actual incidental fee charges; President’s will be reduced from $4,000 to $2,500, and University will be reduced from $2,000 to $1,300.

4. Community College Scholarship ­eligibility is based on course work ­completed after high school graduation. Student must have ­con­secutively attended the ­community ­college as a full‑time s­ tudent (excluding summer semesters) and not attended any other four-year institution.

Renewal:

Value:

1. Academic scholarships (Governor’s, Regents’, President’s, University) are renewable for three additional academic years for a ­maxi­mum of four consecutive academic years with a Southeast ­cumulative 3.5 GPA and a minimum of 30 Southeast credit hours per academic year (may include Southeast ­summer hours). 2. The Midwest Achievement Award is renewable for three additional academic years for a maximum of four consecutive academic years with a Southeast cumula­tive 2.75 GPA and a minimum of 24 Southeast credit hours per academic year (may include Southeast summer hours). 3. Transfer and Dual Credit GPA and hours are not included when calculating renewal eligibility.

Transfer Students

Eligibility:

1. Community College scholarships are awarded to regularly admitted Missouri transfer ­stu­dents at the time of admission (no sep­ar­ ate application required). Note: The admission and scholarship deadline is March 1. 2. Cumulative GPA requirements are based on a 4.0 scale. 3. Scholarship recipients must be enrolled full time (minimum 12 hours per ­semester) to receive payment for the scholarship award.

Renewal:

1. Community College and Phi Theta Kappa scholarships are renewable for one ­additional academic year for a maximum of two consecutive academic years with a Southeast ­cumulative 3.5 GPA and a ­minimum of 30 Southeast credit hours per ­academic year (may include Southeast ­summer hours). Transfer and Dual Credit GPA and hours are not included when ­calculating renewal ­eligibility. 2. The Midwest Achievement Award is ­renewable each year for a maximum of three consecutive academic years, 128 credit hours (including transfer), or completion of course work for a bachelor’s degree, ­whichever occurs first, providing students maintain a Southeast cumulative 2.75 GPA and ­complete a minimum of 24 Southeast credit hours per academic year (may include Southeast summer hours). 3. Scholarship reinstatement is not available for students who do not meet the renewal criteria.
