considering collecting semen from those show bulls as it would exclude them from export orders. For general advice, and if you are considering joining a CHeCS licensed scheme, your own veterinary practice should be your first port of call.

POLLED BLOODLINES Following discussions at the recent Poll Group Open Day at the Hadleys, and by the Breed Improvement Committee, I would like to draw your attention to any polled cattle in your herds whose polled status might not yet have been notified to us. Current polled bloodlines are quite limited, and any „wild types‟ that might suddenly appear could be of significant interest for anyone wishing to take polling forward within the breed. Now that Merial are able to help with DNA testing animals for the possibility of homozygous poll type, we can much more easily trace the source of polling and assess its potential. Please would you let us know if you have any polled animals which do not have a Z in their prefix, so that we may correct the pedigree certificate and so update our records. Thank you.

CATTLE FOR SALE LIST The Cattle for Sale List, as indicated in the last newsletter, has now been refreshed and only those cattle remain that we have been specifically advised about at the beginning of May. BULLS Billington Arthur UK371751 100270 Born 28/06/08 Beals Damien UK380465 600350
