In School Performance Series The In School Performance series brings the theater to the classroom. Students are invited to watch the professional artists of the SCDT Main Company perform a range of works in Contemporary Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap and West African Dance. One hourlong performance and workshop | $700.00 | Pre K-12

Physical Education and Prep Period Support SCDT Teaching Artists serve as auxiliary support to provide students with arts learning during gym, recess and other necessary sta prep periods over the course of the school day. Flexible schedule | $60.00 per class | Pre K-12


Artist Residencies and Workshops The SCDT Main Company is available for short term in school residencies. Artists work alongside teachers to create a format suitable to student learning objectives. Curriculum samples include using Dance to explore the Scientific Method, experiencing Chicago’s Great Migration and Civil Rights Era through African American social dances and exploring social justice issues by creating socially relevant choreography. Between six and twenty classes | $90.00 per class | Grades 3-8

Movement Matters Utilizing visual supports, the Movement Matters program aids dancers with Autism Spectrum Disorder in enhancing mind body connectivity, increasing social awareness and exercising self-expression through developmentally appropriate dance exercises. Between six and twenty classes | $90.00 per class | Pre K-8

After School Dance Company Program The After School Dance Company program is geared towards young dancers seeking to increase their skills in both technique and performance. Students choose from 2 technical forms of study over the course of the workshop period including West African Dance, Ballet, Jazz, African American Social Dances, Hip Hop, Footwork, Tap, Modern, Step and Latin Dance forms. This program concludes with a student directed and produced dance concert. “All after school programs provide students with one day time Main Company performance and movement workshop” Between ten and thirty classes | $90.00 per class | K-12

Black History Month Performance Series “Dancing Through the Great Migration” is a Black History Month performance series touring during the month of February! “Our ninth and tenth grade students were captivated by your performance.” -Matthew Baker, Principal Ogden International High School

After School Poetry Club and Dramatic Interpretation The Poetry Club is a program for students interested in learning about the art of poetry! Students trace poets ranging from the Harlem Renaissance to the current day and produce poems on a weekly basis. Each session concludes with a student produced spoken word performance and a bound book presentation of poems created by students over the course of the school year. Between ten and thirty classes | $90.00 per class | Grades 3-12

Drama Club The Drama Club program teaches students the art of writing, producing and performing in an original play over the course of one school year. SCDT artists work alongside classroom teachers to develop a curricula specific performance theme, and students engage with professional writers, actors, musicians and dancers to develop and perform an original play. School Year | $120.00 per class | Grades 3-12
