Mike Larkin, Eddie Kelley and Tommy Connors were recognized for their commitment to the South Boston boxing community. The chairman of the event was Stephen Murphy, the Suffolk County Register of Deeds. Members of the boxing committee were Peter Welch, Tommy Connors, Eddie Kelley, Mike Larkin, Danny Long, Jimmy LaBlanc, Jimbo Curran, Tommy Dargin, Ryan Long, and Francis Hurley. Special thanks to Tommy McGrath, Peter Welch, Joey Curran, Billy Higgins, William Stoddard, and Bobby O’Shea for their assistance in making this a successful event. Billy Higgins was in attendance along with Boston District City Councilor candidate, Ed Flynn. “It was a great night,” said Flynn. “The crowd was enthusiastic but not as enthusiastic as the fighters who fought hard and showed great sportsmanship.”
