Introducing Aiden Kineavy By Kevin Devlin

four seasons and is currently on the Gate of Heaven CYO 3rd/4th grade travel team coached by Jon Hill. He’s also on the Iron Worker’s Club in Gatey’s midget hoop house league. The team is coached by Greg Lally.

He’s a polite, young boy who is focused in school and on the playing fields. His name is Aiden Kineavy. Aiden, 10, is the son of Patrick Kineavy. He is the grandson of Anne Kineavy, aka “Nana” and the nephew of Michael Kineavy. Aiden, a fourth-grader, attends the Dr. William W. Henderson Elementary School in Dorchester, which offers a comprehensive curriculum with enriched arts experiences. Aiden’s favorite subject is math and someday he hopes on playing in the NBA or become the mayor of Boston. Aiden’s favorite color is blue. His favorite food is hot dogs from Sully’s with ketchup on them. His favorite entertainer is Aubrey “Drake” Graham, a Canadian rapper, singer, songwriter, record producer, and actor. His favorite TV show is “Teen Titans Go” on the Cartoon Network. This animated series is about a group of teenage superheroes who keep the world safe from the bad guys. Aiden’s favorite professional athletes

are Stephen Curry, who plays for the Golden State Warriors in the NBA, and Julian Edelman, star wide receiver for the world champion New England Patriots. Last December, Aiden met Edelman at an event downtown and he signed Aiden’s #11 football jersey which he proudly wears. In his leisure time, Aiden likes to read. He’s currently reading one of the “Magic Tree House” books written by Mary Pope Osborne. He enjoys

playing video games and watching basketball tutorials on YouTube to improve his hoop game. And he enjoys spending time with his family. “I like being with my Nana,” he said. “We watch movies and have fun. I also like being with my uncle who takes me to my games because my dad is working. I also like my “Auntie” Eileen (Fenton) who was a really good basketball player and gives me tips on how to play, like shooting and things like that.” After school and during the summertime, Aiden can be found at the South Boston Neighborhood House, aka the Ollie, having fun and hanging around with friends. His favorite game at the Ollie is Foosball. In the sports arena, Aiden plays hoop, baseball, Pop Warner football, flag football, and floor hockey. He’s been playing hoop for about

Aiden played in the South Boston Pop Warner League last season on the “E” team. He played in the South Boston Youth Soccer League for one season, and has been active in flag football and floor hockey at the Tynan for the past two years. He played flag football last year at Garvey Park in Dorchester. He’s also played baseball locally for the past four years and last summer was on the White Sox. “I like to play sports,” Aiden said. “I like shooting and in one game (this season) I scored 14 points against Saint Leonard’s from the North End. I like tackling people in football and in baseball I like pitching and making outs. I like keeping busy and being with my friends and having fun.” Aiden’s dad Patrick is proud of his son. He should be. He’s a well-mannered youngster who is enjoying life, doing well in school, and is focused on sports. “Sports are good for Aiden,” his dad said. “He listens to his coaches, learns, and looks forward to all his games. He knows he needs to work hard to succeed. Being active like this is a good way for him to get better, learn discipline, follow the rules and work hard. It’s a good way, good lessons to prepare him for life.”

Heading To West Point Congratulations to Jack Conroy of South Boston for being accepted into West Point. The son of John and Kelly Conroy, Jack has been striving towards pursuing a career in the military since he was a young boy. Striving to serve his country and protect us. Striving to serve the country he loves. His dream of serving his country was highlighted in SBOL last September. Jack’s an Honor Roll student, a senior at Xaverian Brothers High school in Westwood. And now his dream has been realized. This past weekend, he was notified that he was accepted into West Point. He graduates in the spring and will head to this prestigious, military institution in the fall. Jack, SBOL congratulates you on seeing your dream come to fruition.
