I would like to welcome the players, management and committee of Yarnton to Bobby Hancocks Park
for today’s OSL Prem match day.
We have been on a fantastic run in the league where we are currently nine games unbeaten. This run started a few months ago at Yarnton after a difficult period saw us lose back to back league games for the only time this season and knocked out of two cup quarter-finals.

Head Coach Richard Kay
It was a tough period where the Omicron Covid variant was ripping through the squad and we were continually struggling to get out a settled 11 and squad of players.
The players individually were really struggling to find any form and rhythm and collectively our fitness and sharpness levels were at their lowest point. The win at Yarnton was a very good away performance, bar the sloppy last ten minutes where we switched off from two set pieces.
We played some excellent football that day and it was the spark we needed to firstly, get some points on the board to propel us back into the promotion places and then take us on a run to get us over the line to achieve promotion.
I was very impressed with the set up at Yarnton. The set up is by far and away the best we have visited. I’m expecting another tough game. We are at that stage where a lot of teams have very little to play for and can just relax and play. We want to keep our unbeaten run going and go all out to finish OSL runners-up.
I must congratulate Bicester on their title. It has been another remarkable league campaign where they are looking odd on to
go the season unbeaten. Any other season at any level we would be in a title race, but if the title winners don’t lose a single game its simply an outstanding achievement.
Our run of form in December where we lost back to back league games for the only time this season has probably cost us as we have lost probably two games too many to take the title race to the wire. With three games remaining my attention has started to turn to pre season and planning for our return to step 6. There is so much hard work and planning that needs to be done, which has already begun
between myself and Mike.
Look out for the upcoming early bird season tickets and continuing improvements to Bobby Hancocks Park.
As always, thank you for your continued support.
