A Place for New Beginnings.

Imagine saying your vows, the shimmering lake enhancing the day’s glow. Gazing into your partner’s eyes as you join hands on the manicured lawn at the water’s edge. Or standing on a hilltop, acres of farmland surrounding you, alongside the love of your life with family and friends. When two people commit to spending their lives together, they deserve a setting as special, and as unique, as their bond. Amid the lush and rolling hills of historic Franklin, Tennessee, Southall is that setting—a place where the land is enchanting, but you are the focus.
Whether you’re planning an intimate gathering or a more lavish affair, we’ll help you create the joyous, beautiful wedding celebration you’ve always imagined.
Southall is dedicated to journeys. The journey of a seed that grows into something nourishing and delicious, the evolution of this land and those who came before us, even the first steps of a couple embarking on a life together. In this timeless setting just outside of Nashville, people come together, connect, and explore. The perfect blend of old and new—and infused with traditional Southern hospitality at every step—our working farm, inviting inn and cottages, signature restaurant, and breathtaking event spaces provide the ideal backdrop to say “I do.”
And as you embark on this new chapter, you’ll not only feel a sense of appreciation for where you are, but a sense of promise for what is to come.
The celebration extends beyond the ceremony—you and your loved ones can share meals crafted from ingredients grown just steps away in our fields, carve out time to play and explore with a host of outdoor pursuits, and relax and replenish with treatments at The Spa at Southall. Here, discovery truly is around every corner.
Celebratory occasions call for memorable meals—and as you dine surrounded by those you love, you will begin yet another journey. Southall’s acclaimed culinary experiences celebrate the bounty of the farm, inextricably linking you to the land and the people who tend it. Each bite is transcendent, a connection to the earth that sustains us all.
Dedicated to heritage, craft, and artistry, the Southall culinary team honors nature’s gifts with flavorful, diverse dishes that use seasonal ingredients grown right here. Dining at Southall is a true seed-tofork affair. With custom menus for jubilant receptions, intimate garden suppers, and soul-stirring rehearsal dinners—along with late-night after-party revelry and rousing morning-after brunches— you’ll find much to savor.
Our dishes and cocktails are inspired by the seasons and the bounty of our farm, yet the ultimate inspiration for weddings at Southall is you. We work to create special, memorable menus completely customized to your wishes—everything from appetizers to the main course, desserts, and the wedding cake. Our expert sommeliers will also design the perfect pairings and creative signature cocktails to elevate the experience even further.
At Southall, unique and memorable experiences are as ample as the fruit from our trees. We encourage you to try something new, explore, and ignite your curiosity as you get ready to grow old together. At the center of it all is our working farm, which includes an apple orchard, greenhouses, an apiary, lush gardens, and acres of land for foraging wild edibles. Culinary tours and demonstrations chart the course from seed to plate, and The Jammery, our certified canning kitchen, offers an array of exhibitions and classes to enjoy.
Gather the groomsmen around a fire pit for a local whiskey tasting and a generous pour of history and tradition. Pop the bubbly with your bridesmaids after a chef-guided walk through the kitchen gardens. Explore beyond Southall with exclusive experiences available only to our guests, such as going backstage with VIP live music experiences in Nashville, hitting all the high notes at the Country Music Hall of Fame, Frist Museum, National Museum of African American Music, and many more.
Our sprawling acreage also features miles of hiking and biking trails through an old-growth forest, a fun and challenging ropes and obstacle course, archery, and falconry—along with more serene activities such as fishing, kayaking, and stand-up paddle boarding on Lake Mishkin.
There’s also the opportunity to slow everything down—finding a shady spot to enjoy a picnic, greeting the day with sunrise yoga on our hilltop sundial, or soaking up the sunshine by the outdoor heated pool with a cocktail in hand. Because relaxation is every bit as important as recreation.
Amid an unspoiled lush and rolling landscape, The Inn at Southall offers an elevated farmstead experience, one that combines effortless luxury and down-to-earth elegance. Our 62 spacious guestrooms and suites allow you to remain immersed in the rural countryside, with stunning views and a powerful sense of harmony with the surroundings.
Our 16 separate Hillside and Arbor Cottages are expansive yet intimate; a blend of extravagance and balance, they are inviting and inspiring alike. With one- and two-bedroom options, you’ll relish the natural light and outdoor living spaces, where you can enjoy a glass of wine under the stars as you reflect on the journey before you—or relive the moments you just shared.
Rooted in the healing powers of the earth, The Spa at Southall features modern treatments infused with ancient techniques—along with products that incorporate ingredients derived from and inspired by our farm. Gather with your bridal party before the ceremony for meditation, yoga, a sound bath, or a tea ceremony to ensure you look and feel your best. Unwind after the big day with a couples massage alongside your beloved. Be sure to leave time for a soothing soak in the mineral pool and a stroll through our herbal medicinal garden. Designed to replenish and restore, like the land around us, The Spa at Southall instills a deep sense of wellbeing.
A captivating setting for your dream wedding, Southall offers a variety of spaces for the ideal ceremony and reception—whether it’s a grand lavish affair, a more intimate gathering, or something in between.
Our stunning 4,000-square-foot event center boasts high ceilings, soaring exposed beams, wood flooring, a neutral color palette, and rooms flooded with natural light, thanks to sliding glass walls that open to an expansive outdoor patio and event lawns along Lake Mishkin.
A versatile venue accommodating up to 250 guests, it can also be divided for smaller gatherings. The Orchard features fully integrated audiovisual capabilities and includes two smaller spaces, Rubinette and Yarlington, ideal for your bridal suite or an additional reception space. The Orchard’s large lawns—with lakeside manicured grass, an outdoor fireplace, and natural landscaping—are a perfect backdrop for your ceremony or cocktail reception and can be tented for groups of up to 350.
Alongside Southall’s greenhouse conservatories and a courtyard landscaped with edible herbs and plants, you’ll find the Conservatory Terrace. This open-air venue can accommodate up to 150 guests under canvas canopies and includes a lawn featuring custom Adirondack chairs made with Tennessee sassafras. Kick off your wedding weekend with a fire-cooked feast featuring ingredients direct from Southall’s fields and around the region. Settle in with a beverage provided by The Phantom, a 1940s antique vehicle that we’ve fabricated into a bar, complete with taps pouring craft beers and wine. The Conservatory Terrace offers plenty of room for a welcome reception and cocktail party, an afternoon picnic, or a late-night after-party—perhaps with music from a soon-to-be-discovered country music star filling the night air.
Want to forego the traditional rehearsal dinner for a more experiential affair? The Jammery, which houses our preservation and demonstration kitchen, can accommodate up to 24 guests for private dining and exclusive cooking demonstrations and tastings. A wrap-around porch and adjacent lawn provide ample room to take in the natural ambience.
This intimate space in the inn is ideal for a celebratory gathering of the bridal party or a small reception with cherished loved ones.
