The prestigious annual awards, organised by Retail Week and sponsored by Skillsmart Retail, celebrate all areas of retail, from the shop-floor to head office, and the individuals who demonstrate outstanding talent, aptitude and initiative in their roles - singling them out as the ones to watch for the future.
Retail Intelligence Salary Surveys
Almost 80 people and teams from a range of businesses and skills shops across the country battled it out in 17 categories, hoping to get their hands on one of the much sought after trophies.
The winners in the Skillsmart Retail and National Skills Academy for Retail categories were: Skillsmart Retail Apprentice of the Year: April Bell, Monica F. Hewitt Florists, Sheffield Skillsmart Retail Apprentice of the Year - Highly Commended: Abbey Fenton, Funky Viking, Eastbourne National Skills Academy for Retail Learner of the Year: Karolina Sulinska, Superdrug, Tilbury, Essex National Skills Academy for Retail Trainer of the Year: Marcus Pescod, Central South East Skills Shop, Brighton National Skills Academy for Retail Ambassador of the Year: Suzanne Burnett, Marks & Spencer, London
Skillsmart Retail Patron and Apprentice Champion, chairman of Ryman and Dragons' Den star Theo Paphitis said: "I congratulate all of the finalists in the Skillsmart Retail Rising Stars Awards. These people are an inspiration to the industry and are great examples of the drive, commitment, enthusiasm and sheer passion required to make it in retail.
