PROJECT A Sunil’s Residence A small residence designed to fulfill the client’s requirement of merging new ideas in architecture with the old ones. The challenge was to create a structure that would leave an impression over the onlookers, a mixture of greens with the built. The client indicated their need to have a uniquness in the form and hence full freedom was given to play with forms and spaces of the structure.

The basic outline of the structure was achieved by merging more than ten options of the house.

The main principle behind every option was to highlight a unique element of design element/ priciple. The design hints towards the minimising the "isms" in architecture.

The house gives an impression that it is extending/moving out of the site, a rough texture on the wall is given for easing the climbers to overtake some parts of the structure. The balcony was framed between brick-works and jali design to put emphasis over it, it also leaves an impression of being supported by the vegetation below while the amalgamation of the elements frames the vegetation.

The vegetation and brick jali also work as an ornamentation towards the elevation of the facade.

PROJECT B

The design itself was inspired from the principles and elements of vastu, it was planned on the principles of courtyard houses and hence a central courtyard was given segregating the spaces and element of the structure that broke the challenge in the design. The structure personifies grandness in the simplest of ways. To impart that various materials have been used that highlights the spaces and plays with the eye movement of user.

The ground floor was planned on the basis of the courtyard was inviting the heat of the scorching sun that may have increade the temperature of the spaces around it, therefore a requirement of cooling arose hence, the central area was utilised for passive cooling and water body was introduced to keep the interactive spaces around it calm. The ground floor contributes its area towards a waterbody and two small dry gardens located in the corners of the structure. The structure was given two curves so that it will invite the morning sun inside the main living area, elements like louvres and jali screens were installed to have an aesthetical/ornamented impression on the facade as well as a play with light and shadows

could be observed. Although the structure was built on flat land, a play in levels was given to keep the feets and eyes entertained.

The first floor copied the principles of the ground floor but with a change in levels when changing spaces. The first floor allows the user connectivity towards all the changing levels of the rooftops.

An informal living area has been provided to enjoy the rising sun while a corridor overlooking the dry garden hass been provided to enjoy the setting sun, rain and other weather excitements.

The structure was a part of a farmhouse lanscape design project. The client’s idea was to have the project built on the priciples of vastu and to have spaces for leisure.

The Formal Living area was a requiremnt from the family to host uncalled and emergency meetings with their clients. Space was designed to cater small meetings and a corporate vibe was given to the space. the materials and colour palette was selected for the same purpose. Provisions were given to close the space completely to keep it undisturbed from the rest of the areas and vice-versa.

Since the requirement of the space demanded undivided attention, hence no distracting objects were placed inside the formal space so that the meeting time could be minimised.

The informal Living area was designed so that whole family could spend time together at once hence the requirement of a big sapce arose. the furniture is designed to minimise the focus over details and should go with concept of the minimal house. the walls behind curve outwards to invite the morning sunlight as well as keep the space well lit throughout the day.

PROJECT C Stacked Utopia : Group Housng

The need for high quality affordable housing is at an all time high. A type of domestic architecture that accommodates the group rather than the unit and is therefore public as well as private, providing with all the amenities required to sustain in daily life amidst paradigm shift. Group housing is produced by many kinds of cultures: by communal states to equalize living standards, by tyrants to assure a docile labour force and by feudal or caste systems to bring together members of a class.

Architects design relationships through architecture and group architecture is among the biggest designs ever made. We cannot sustain or develop in subgroups, hence group architecture.

In ecology, sustainability (from sustain and ability) is the property of biological systems to remain diverse and productive indefinitely.

Sustainable architecture or ecological architecture is a philosophy of designing buildings to comply with the principles of social, and ecological balance.

The structure is an inspiration of habitat 67 and tries to advance on the principle of creating spaces that may encourage one to interact with others.

A desirable place to live in with a balance between green and grey having more contact with nature, how natural light and the feeling of openness can be achieved in today’s megalopolises in order to achieve a better quality of life. Sustaining with the help of nature and helping nature in sustaining itself. A small ecosystem comprising of natural and manmade things that enforces the users to grow and develop.

The concept of the structure was to break the stereotype of residencial apartments of multiplying the same floor plan. so instead of have a singular plan of the floor the building has different floor plans depending on its type and each floor is stacked over the other in away that spaces for balconies that overlook each other is created.

Similarly, balconies have been projected in different directions to keep in touch with the concept.

The balconies are given extra areas keeping in mind that the user needs to interact and spend more time outside rather thatn in his home, enough space has been given so that these balconies can be customised and converted to gardens for leisure activities.

Although the plan of each floor utilises more area in circulation but that allowed the play on the exterior of an otherwise monotonous facade.
