PHOENIX RISING

Term 3 2024

FROM THE HEADMASTER

If you speak with a teacher anywhere they will tell you that Term 3 is always the most jam packed. This edition of the Phoenix Rising clearly captures the many opportunities and successes experienced by our staff and students.

Major student successes include victories at the Secondary Inter-School Athletics Carnival, individual achievements at the Charters Towers Eisteddfod, Rugby 7s, Club Netball and Cattle Club. Our athletes, performers and handlers certainly embraced the opportunities afforded to them this term - congratulations!

In recent years our Senior girls have taken upon themselves to raise money and awareness for those affected by cancer through the Ponytail Project. Our 2024 Seniors did an outstanding job in taking this mission forward with 14 girls ‘rocking the chop’ this year and their fundraising efforts reaching over $16K placing them in the top 10 fundraising groups in Australia. This was an outstanding achievement for the girls, they have been excellent role models of servant leadership - well done.

It was with great excitement that we welcomed new and returning families during our orientation program. It is pleasing to see the connection with our past students remaining as strong as ever with many new descendants of past students beginning a new generation of history with the School.

One of the many highlights for me this term was the Annual Past Student Reunion, held over the last weekend of Term 3. Over 130 alumni travelled ‘home’ to share stories of times gone by. This year, a new committee, with a blend of youth and experience trialled a new format with resounding success. Chris Allingham and the late Ross Leake were acknowledged for their outstanding service to the School by being inducted to the Walls of Fame. As the School approaches 25 years since its reopening it was fitting to recognise the servant leadership of these two men, whom without, the School would undoubtedly not be where it is today.

We look forward to celebrating the year with you in Term 4 at the Annual Awards Day and Preliminary Prize Giving celebrations. Good luck to our Senior Students who will begin their external assessments and begin planning for their future. We look forward to celebrating your time with us at the upcoming Mass of GodSpeed and Valedictory Dinner.

CAPTAINS’ CORNER

LUKE KEOUGH & JACALYN ELLIOTT SCHOOL CAPTAINS

Term 3 was another amazing term that’s for sure! Term 3 was jammed packed with heaps of exciting opportunities and experiences, to challenge ourselves individually and to grow into the best potential people we can be. Firstly in Week 3 we had our annual Inter-School Athletics Carnival which was held at Blackheath and Thornburgh College. The strong and resilient athletics team competed exceptionally well, which the results we achieved spoke for. As a School we achieved overall Combined Aggregate, Girls Aggregate, Boys Aggregate, and Boys Relay Trophies. This outstanding accomplishment meant that as a School we won the big three this year; Inter-School Swimming, InterSchool Cross Country, and Inter-School Athletics. Well done to everyone! Most importantly we attained victory with humility.

We have been involved in other sports this term including; cricket, softball, rugby 7’s, and mixed touch. Also we had our annual Reunion Weekend in Week 8, which was a success of building on the rich connection of Souls and Gabes between the past and present students.

As Term 3 draws to a close, we reflect and celebrate on an outstanding 9 weeks filled with exciting and challenging experiences. Kicking off early in the term was the Ponytail Project, which was organised to encourage the black and white School community to come together to raise awareness and funds for the Cancer Council in supporting their research. Term 3 also saw our Orientation Program, it provided a fantastic opportunity to welcome new faces to our family while offering a chance to help them settle into our vibrant community. Towards the end of Term 3, all students’ academic resilience and focus was tested in the exam block; however, it was noted that our dedication and perseverance helped us through. Lastly, with Graduation on the horizon, we are excited to celebrate our achievements from the last 12 months. It has been a term full of growth and excitement and we look forward to seeing what next Term 4 holds. We also would like to take this opportunity to wish the Year 11 students good luck as they embark on their leadership journey.

MASON STOREY & AVA CRANE JUNIOR SCHOOL CAPTAINS

We have had a very fun and action packed Term 3 in the All Souls St Gabriels Junior School. Term 3 saw our students enjoy some really exciting times, especially on the sports field. We had 48 students compete at Inter-School Athletics Carnival and we are very proud of how every student gave their best and achieved some impressive results. Our InterSchool sports for Term 3 were soccer and netball. The netball team finished 3rd and soccer team finished 6th. We also participated in the Cricket Blast Cup, and all 3 teams played really well.

We also enjoyed many cultural and educational events in Term 3. Our students from Prep through to Year 6 went up to the Halse Hall and performed in the Charters Towers Languages Speaking Competition, hosted by Frau Dunn. Every student that participated gave their best and showed how our talents spread across a whole range of different areas. We also participated in the Charters Towers Eisteddfod, bringing home a large range of trophies and awards. Finally, all students from Pre-prep to Year 6 went to The World Theatre for the ‘Snowy and the Seven Cool Dudes’ performance.

Our Junior School was full of yellow as our Junior School staff wore yellow to acknowledge RUOK Day. Each student had the opportunity to write messages on the RUOK message board, and everyone got to share a really nice cake. It was a great day of brainstorming different ideas about how to check in on each other to make sure we are really okay. Our Year 6 students had the privilege of going up to the Senior School to watch the very brave Year 12 girls get their ponytails chopped off to raise money for the Ponytail Project.

This was one of our busiest terms for excursions and outdoor education activities. Here is a summary of our adventures:

• Prep went to Lissner Park;

• Year 3 had a sleepover at the Jim Rebgetz Centre; We are looking forward to what wonderful opportunities Term 4 will brings for us.

• Year 5 went to a watermelon farm and Wambiana Station; • Year 6 went to Canberra.

HIGH TEA WITH YEAR 12 HOSPITALITY

During Term 3 our staff were treated to a fully catered High Tea, courtesy of our talented Year 12 Hospitality students. As part of their assessment, the students planned, practiced, and prepared a delightful spread of sweet and savoury treats, along with refreshing mocktails.

The glowing reviews are in, with many staff members finding it hard to return to work after such a delicious and satisfying feast! A huge congratulations to our Year 12 students for their hard work and creativity in delivering such a memorable experience!

DEBATING

We’re incredibly proud of our debaters for their hard work and dedication this season. Each team walked away with a mix of wins and losses, but more importantly, every competitor gained valuable experience and improved their skills and knowledge.

A big thank you to Ms Carmody for taking our teams, and to Columba Catholic College for hosting this year’s competition! Well done to all involved!

INTRODUCING OUR ATHLETE HIGH PERFORMANCE PROGRAM

We are thrilled to officially announce the launch of our High Performance Program (HPP), created to support students who demonstrate exceptional talent and dedication in their chosen sport, while also helping them balance their academic responsibilities. This program is designed to equip students with essential tools like time management, sport psychology, resistance training, and nutrition education to help them achieve their full potential both on the field and in the classroom.

The program consists of several tiers, beginning in Junior Secondary, when talent is first identified, and progressing through to the Senior years, when students may compete at state or national levels. Selection is based on criteria outlined by our Director of Sport, who ensures the program remains dynamic and responsive to student performance throughout the year.

While the HPP is tailored for high-performing athletes, we remain dedicated to fostering a wide range of sporting opportunities for all students, encouraging participation and growth across all skill levels.

We would like to extend our congratulations to the talented athletes who have been selected for the program thus far! The group is ever-evolving as we continue to monitor performances at sporting events throughout the year.

DUKE OF EDINBURGH URBAN JOURNEY

Our Silver and Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s International Award participants recently embarked on a unique practice journey in Townsville & Cairns, trading the outback for the urban jungle! This trip presented new challenges, with students using Epicollect 5 to complete a range of tasks, such as navigating maps, catching buses, and exploring different parts of the city.

Students completed tasks throughout the city, visiting and navigating to locations like JCU, CQU, The Strand, Jezzine Barracks, and the Queensland Museum Tropics. This experience provided valuable lessons in urban navigation, preparing students for future adventures in city environments.

BACK TO THE GOOD OLD DAYS

Old friends, sport, school tours, trivia, good food, and plenty of memories shared! Our annual Reunion Weekend at ASSG is always a highlight, and this year's event was no exception. A big thank you to everyone who joined us, and a special shout-out to our ASSG Past Students Association for organising another fantastic event! We can't wait to do it all again next year!

FEETHAM & BECKET EXCEL IN INTER HOUSE ACADEMICS

Late in Term 3, our Senior School students took part in the highly anticipated Inter-House Academics competition. The first round kicked off with creative House Freeze Frames, where students showcased their imagination and teamwork. In the second week, the competition heated up with an intense and challenging academic relay, testing their knowledge and quick thinking.

A huge congratulations to our overall winners - Feetham and Becket! Well done to all houses for their enthusiasm and effort in this exciting event.

ROCKING THE CHOP

During Term 3, 14 of our Senior girls made an inspiring commitment by cutting off their ponytails to support cancer patients. Their courageous act symbolises hope for those affected by cancer, and we couldn’t be prouder to have them as our leaders this year.

After months of dedicated fundraising efforts, the girls raised an impressive $16,747, placing our School in the top 10 on the Australian fundraising leaderboard. This remarkable achievement reflects their hard work, compassion, and drive to make a difference.

We applaud everyone involved in this effort. The impact of their dedication extends far beyond the funds raised, spreading awareness for a cause that touches many lives. Well done Seniors!

ENCOURAGING OUR FUTURE LEADERS

Our Year 11 cohort embarked on an exciting three-day Leadership Camp at Virginia Park, where they engaged in a range of dynamic activities, from team-building exercises and an adventure race to a lively talent show. These experiences challenged the students to step out of their comfort zones, fostering group unity and sharpening their communication skills.

The camp was a showcase of hidden talents, with students embracing each challenge and thriving in ways that revealed their leadership potential. It was heartening to witness the camaraderie and growth within the group as they navigated the tasks together.

We look forward to seeing this group continue to grow as they prepare to step into their roles as our new leaders in the coming year. A big thank you to the team at Virginia Park for hosting us—what a privilege to have such fantastic opportunities right in our own backyard!

What a fantastic time we had at this year’s Charters Towers Eisteddfod! This event provides an amazing opportunity for our students excelling in The Arts to showcase the hard work they’ve put in all year.

Both our Junior and Senior students participated in Visual Art, Speech, Drama, and Music categories, earning a variety of 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and highly commended awards across the board.

A special congratulations to those who received special awards, and a big thank you to Mr Price and The Arts team for their dedication and support in preparing our students to shine.

ASSG CRICKET INTER SCHOOL PLACINGS

All Teams that competed in the Inter-School Cricket competition this year showed great resilience and hard work. Unfortunately, it was a tough season for all teams with some close losses. Our First XI ended the season 3rd overall showing great improvement at the back end of the season. The Under 15s team finished equal 2nd overall, finishing the season with a well-fought game against Columba Catholic College. The Under 13s team unfortunately came 3rd without winning a game, but learned a lot with many of them playing for the first time.

ASSG SOFTBALL INTER SCHOOL PLACINGS

The 13s, 15s and Opens girls have been playing weekly rounds of Inter-School Softball games. The 13s girls went down to Blackheath and Thornburgh College (BTC) in their first game but were able to win against Columba Catholic College (CCC) in the first round. In the second round the girls had a convincing win against both BTC and CCC. The girls’ continuous effort and improvement was rewarded when they were placed 1st overall!

The 15s girls improved each week but were only able to come away with 1 win against CCC, placing them 3rd overall. The Open girls had a rocky start to the season losing both games to BTC and CCC but were able to beat BTC in the second round and just going down to CCC. These results saw the open girls playing 3rd overall. Congratulations to all the girls for another great softball season and a big thank you goes out to our softball coaches for their help and support!

INTER SCHOOL RUGBY 7S

A huge congratulations to our Senior School students who competed in the Inter-School Rugby 7s Competition. We are proud to announce that ASSG had a team in every final, bringing home 3 division titles!

ASSG NAIDOC WEEK 2024

Keep the FIRE BURNING! But what does it MEAN?

We are descendants of the FIRE SPIRIT And nothing in BETWEEN

We are born from this EARTH Creations of the SKY We dance by campfire at NIGHT And tell stories by MOON LIGHT on HIGH

Bathing our black skin; in cool WATERS Both salt WATER and FRESH By streams and by the OCEAN Mother Earth’s FLESH

We replenish our SOULS as we move across the LAND We can not get LOST as our ANCESTORS take our HANDS

They LEAD the WAY They are our GUIDE It’s not what’s on the OUTSIDE But what is deep INSIDE

FIRE SPIRIT is calling US even if we don’t UNDERSTAND This LAND is the story of our DREAMING BLACK and RED SOIL… CLAY and SAND

KEEP THE FIRE BURNING!

This is a MUST Every single DAY

In our Ancestors we TRUST

FIRE SPIRIT is a SPARK

That is lit with DESIRE For those who carry the FLAME It can only burn HIGHER

No one can take our DREAMS

Our hopes and our PASSION

Spirit of the FLAME

Is how we make it HAPPEN

Fire Spirit needs FUEL

And When the FIRE BURNS

Bright flames GLOW

Then our hearts YEARN

For our COUNTRY

And for the SEA

All of the PEOPLE

Who yearn to walk FREE

But first we need FIRE

The call from our DREAMING

FIRE lights our SOULS

And sets our eyes GLEAMING

This is the FLAME

That we all have INSIDE

Just like FIRE when it is LIT

We simply can not HIDE

Because FIRE SPIRIT calls US

And teaches us the WAYS

Ancient CULTURE and MEMORIES

All become ABLAZE

This is the one FIRE

That simply can not be put OUT

Because we all have a CALLING

That is what “KEEP THE FIRE BURNING!” is all ABOUT!

WELCOMING OUR FUTURE 2024 ORIENTATION PROGRAM

One of the highlights of Term 3 was having our future ASSG students join us for the Orientation Program. The students spent a day in the life of an ASSG student - participating in STEM, PE, Home Ec, Drama, Art, Music, Science, Cattle Club, and Design & Technology, as well as getting a taste of life in the dormitories with our Boarding Recreational program!

A big thank you to all of the families who took part in the program, traveling from far and wide to attend. We are looking forward to having you back as a part of the ASSG Family in 2025!

SHOWCASING OUR DEUTSCH

AT THE CHARTERS TOWERS LANGUAGES COMPETITION

In Term 3 we hosted the Charters Towers Languages Speaking Competition here at ASSG. Students from Columba Catholic College, Charters Towers State High School, Charters Towers School of Distance Education and ASSG Junior School competed in the languages of German, Japanese and Chinese.

Our Prep to Year 3 classes provided entertainment with their performance of a repertoire of German songs and rhymes. Congratulations to all the participants and place getters!

UNDER 8’S DAY

What a fantastic morning we had at our 2024 Under 8's Day! A huge thank you to everyone who joined us at the ASSG Junior School – we hope you all had an amazing time! Special thanks to our Early Childhood Studies class, Year 6 students, Class Representatives, and our wonderful Junior School staff for organising and running such a fun-filled morning!

JUNIOR

PRE PREP

MRS AMY SWEENEY

What a great term it has been in Pre-prep. In Term 3 we have continued our bucket filling project where the children have been practicing kindness with their peers. The children created their own visual buckets to display at the Charters Towers Show to share their learning with the local community.

To further develop their sense of belonging, through connections within the local community, the Pre-prep children went on an excursion to The World Theatre where they participated in an interactive performance, ‘Snowy and the Seven Cool Dudes.’ The children enjoyed learning about healthy food choices as they danced along to the performance.

The Pre-prep children also participated in All Souls St Gabriels School Under 8’s day where they engaged in activities, centred around connecting to culture through play. The Pre-prep children, along with the Year 6 students, gave an Acknowledgement of Country, thanking the Gudjal people for the land on which we learn and play. The children loved using the obstacle course, creating sensory bottles and engaging in The Arts on this incursion.

PREP

MRS KATELYN OSBALDISTON

The Prep students had a wonderful time at their excursion to Lissner Park as part of the Outdoor Education Program. The purpose of this excursion was to provide the students with real life experiences relating to our ‘Special Places’ unit in HASS. The students went for a walk around the park to look at the different features and record these. Students spotted some baby chicks on the walk which were definitely a highlight! They also went on a treasure hunt and had to follow Mrs O’s map to find the hidden treasure. We finished off the excursion with a picnic and a play in the playground. A big thank you to Mrs Fittock, Ms Chloe, Mrs Walsh and Miss Steph for joining us.

SCHOOL

YEAR 1

Reardon’s Retro Groovers have been super busy during Term 3. We had our amazing Student Teacher Miss Abbey Haines back for 3 weeks. During her stay, Miss Haines took the reins of Year 1 and taught us how to write a procedure. Together we read a story called “Wombat Stew”. Then we gathered the information out of the story to come up with a procedure (recipe) to make Gooey-Brewy Wombat Stew for Dingo. Did you know Dingo wasn’t even going to taste test his stew? The best part was making our own gooey brewy stew and eating it!

We live in a material world. Every day we use objects made from different materials that are chosen because of the properties that make them useful.

In Science, Year 2 completed investigations to explore the properties of different materials. They questioned, predicted, tested, reflected and evaluated, like real Scientists! At the end of the unit, the students were challenged to apply their new knowledge to design and build a lunchbox that was durable, strong and waterproof. Science was a lot of fun in Term 3!

JUNIOR

Wow! Another busy term done and dusted. Term 3’s highlight was when Year 3 embarked on the big adventure of having our first sleepover as a class. For our outdoor education experience, we spent our Friday afternoon playing games and doing craft. Then later we were able to consolidate our Science learning from last term by spending some time on the oval watching the sunset; this was a highlight for many students are we had previously studied day and night. That night we ventured back outside to look at the stars where we observed the Southern Cross and saw a satellite. The favourite part of our sleepover however was watching a movie and having popcorn before bed. It was a great experience for all, and we were sad it quickly came to an end.

During Term 3 in Science, the Year 4 students have been investigating the physical properties of materials. As part of our learning journey, the class have undertaken a variety of experiments where they were required to make predictions and explain their observations. One of our tasks had us investigating whether different materials would leak, soak or repel a liquid. We tested 3 different materials – denim, lycra and baking paper.

We also conducted an experiment to see what would happen when different binders were added to ochre. The different liquids each changed the properties of the ochre when combined. Once we had created the mixtures, we then painted them onto some card and tested each sample to check if they would smudge or if they would run when water was added to them. We worked particularly hard to utilise our Science vocabulary when making predictions and describing our observations. Once we were able to observe what happened to the ochre, the students were then asked to use their knowledge of the mixtures properties to decide which mixture would be best suited for use in body painting, rock art and painting of didgeridoos. It was fantastic to see the students making strong connections to their observations and applying this knowledge when making their final decisions.

SCHOOL

Paddock to Plate has been the hot topic in Year 5 during Term 3. Our studies started us with looking at the process of asparagus farming at Black River Produce at Selheim. We then ventured to Wambiana Cattle Station to explore beef cattle production and stayed overnight to enjoy the many other challenges and experiences that property life brings. In the classroom the Year 5 students explored many and varied processes such as egg production, wheat to bread, sugarcane to sugar and honey production. Their learning adventures culminated in a cooking activity on the last day of term where they choose a recipe from the fruit, eggs, milk and meat group to prepare and eat for lunch. We enjoyed chicken and beef fajitas, apple crumble and custard and brownies. The students were great little chefs and loved the experience of trying new foods and enjoying the sweet ones. This was a fantastic way to finish off the term!

Term 3 was the best term of the year. We finally got to go to Canberra. Some of the places we went to were Old Parliament House, New Parliament House, the Australian War Memorial, Questacon and the National Archives.

We were able to have a quiet moment to reflect at the tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Australian War Memorial. This was a thought-provoking experience as we still don’t know exactly who he is or what sacrifices he made for our country.

At the Electoral Education Centre, we learnt how to vote and how preferential voting works in Australia.

We continued our adventures with rock climbing and laser tag. These were great experiences as we got to work as a team and really support each other as some of us faced our fear of heights.

We got to pat alligators, get up close and personal with a few snakes, touch the blue tongue lizards, feed the alpaca, and giggle at the meerkats at the Zoo.

Canberra was an amazing way to finish our term and we are so thankful to our parents and teachers for making this a wonderful experience.

MS PRUE CLARKE

CANBERRA TRIP

Year 6 students recently travelled to Canberra for an educational tour of the National Capital. Students were afforded the opportunity to participate in a variety of educational programs with a focus on Australia’s history, culture, heritage and democracy.

The Australian Government recognises the importance of all young Australians being able to visit the National Capital, as part of their Civics and Citizenship education. We thank the government for their support, and look forward to receiving the rebate which will be paid directly to the School in the coming weeks.

On behalf of the Year 6 families, I would also like to thank the ASSG Parents and Friends Association for their donation, which also helped reduce the overall cost of the trip for families.

There were many highlights for the students (and staff) including visits to the Australian War Memorial, the Australian Institute of Sport, Parliament House, the National Museum, CSIRO, and Questacon. They also enjoyed their evening activities at the Canberra Reptile Zoo, Rock Climbing and Laser Tag. Thank you Ms Clarke, Mrs Clark and Mr Wilson for sharing this experience with the Year 6 students.

Our Year 5 class had an incredible time at Wambiana Station as part of their Paddock to Plate unit. They spent time at the cattle yards learning about dipping, branding, and preg-testing cattle, followed by making their own beef burger patties for dinner. The night wrapped up with whip cracking and a campfire with marshmallows!

Students also learned about life on a cattle station, feeding poddy calves and chickens, and finished with an Outback Challenge relay.

PADDOCK TO PLATE

CRICKET BLASTERS

CUP

This year, we entered three teams into the Cricket Blast Cup. It was excellent to see students step out of their comfort zones and try a new sport. One team was undefeated for the entire day, which was a highlight, and both of the other teams were very competitive. Overall, it was a great, fun-filled day, as always.

JUNIOR SCHOOL SPORT

Again, this year, the Inter-School sports for Term 3 were soccer and netball, and we had mixed teams for both sports, which is great to see. In total, we played 10 games over 5 weeks; however, due to prior School commitments, the Year 6 students were only available to play 6 games this year. Thankfully, a very eager group of Year 5 students filled in as required.

Overall, the netball team finished 3rd on the ladder, and the soccer team finished in 6th position.

Watch out Hollywood! In Term 3 we were joined by Academy Award Winning Cinematographer, Greg Huglin ("The Cove", 2010) and his wonderful producer wife Andrea from the Noosa Film Academy.

It was fantastic to see our students' confidence grow throughout the day as they learned about film making on set and collaborated to create their short film. We are immensely grateful to Greg and Andrea for sharing their knowledge and expertise, and for giving us the opportunity to discover what a career in the film making industry could look likethe students thoroughly enjoyed it.

OUTCOME DAY

In Week 4, several of our talented students from The Arts took part in the Scene Project Outcome Day, a fantastic initiative by the Queensland Theatre Company. As the largest educational program of its kind, the Scene Project aims to inspire drama students statewide by immersing them in the full creative journey, from rehearsal to performance.

Each year, a playwright is commissioned by Queensland Theatre to create a new work, which students then adapt into their own unique 15-minute interpretation. After a workshop in Term 2 and countless rehearsals, our students took to the stage with a brilliant performance that truly showcased their creativity and talent.

We are incredibly proud of their dedication and the hard work they put into bringing this production to life!

TERM THREE IN THE ARTS

JUNIOR SCHOOL INTER SCHOOL ATHLETICS

Inter-School Athletics was a windy, drizzly day. However, not to be deterred by the weather, the students filled the ovals at Columba Catholic College (CCC), excited to test their athletic skills and abilities against each School’s best athletes. Each student performed exceptionally well; however, due to having the cute factor in their favour, our 5 and 6-year-olds stole the show in their sprints and relays.

Congratulations to Jack Price (9 Years Boys) who received Age Champion, and Ella Thomson and Pippa Tait, (combined 11 Years Girls) who were awarded joint Runner-Up Age Champions.

Overall, ASSG placed 2nd on the combined average champion ladder and 3rd in the overall aggregate champion places.

The Inter-School Athletics for 2024 was held at Blackheath and Thornburgh College. Congratulations to everyone who competed, it was an exciting day filled with excitement, PB’s and team spirit. It was great to see so many students giving it their all, & representing their School with pride.

ASSG were the winners of the Overall Aggregate Trophy, as well as the Girls Aggregate, Boys Aggregate, & Boys Relay Trophies. Our team of 102 students played hard with grit, determination, and grinding the whole carnival with everything giving their absolute best. Hence, the results speak for it. You may have heard a saying, you reap what you sow, and that’s what we sure did! We rose to the occasion and gave it our absolute best, and reaped the award. A huge congratulations to all of our students who received Age Champion, or Runner-Up in their respective age group. We attained victory through hard work, determination, discipline, belief, teamwork and most importantly we won with humility and held the highest sportsmanship.

Based on the results from the Inter - School Athletics we had 13 students from ASSG, selected to represent Charters Towers at NQ trials. With 3 students being selected to represent North Queensland at the QRSS State Championships in Brisbane. Special mention to these three students: Darcy, Ilikenna, and Georgia.

We would like to also say a big thank you to the coaches Mr Wilson, Mr Cameron and Ms Bowden for the organisation behind the scenes.
