Trade in the woollen blankets, curtains, clothing for coal fired air conditioning if the bushfires did not burn the coal mines and poison the fire fighters with toxins and carbon monoxide first. Bob Carr the recycled globe trotting polly for Foreign Affairs, theft of farm water vegetation, and while NSW premier 1995-2005 bought more gang green votes with another 300 national parks including 65000 hectares of native timber plantation ready for harvest. Riches dug out of the ground and exported without value adding through Australian owned steel industry, manufacturing, car industry, fruit cannery, renewable hardwood industry maintaining forest fire safety by removing thinnings value added for building materials, furnishings, paper, particle board etc. Value added product. Instead the Labour Green coalition drawn from the government and university ranks want the farms, forests, fisheries shut down for their tourist destinations, resort accommodation serving foreign food to foreign visitors. The thing called wilderness building the bonfire ready for the inevitable summer drought dry lightening storm to light the unstoppable bushfire. The public sector is notoriously Labour Green Socialist communist with aspirations for a Liberal lifestyle the public owe them for innovative ways of delivering indecision, inactivity, legitimising no service. How often are the public told “The person you were talking to about that matter has moved departments or positions or jobs!” Tony while revisiting the Tasmanian situation on forest agreements, national park claims you should also look at the forest outside your window in Canberra and winging off to Melbourne the vast canopy burn in the reformed Murray Basin. Tony Abbott Murray Basin The Murray Darling collects water from tropical fronts that break through past the highlands of New Guinea and reach the inland overcoming any localised effects of dust, industrial particulates generated by paper pulp mills open cut mines drought affected lands, coal fired electricity, pollution from urban sprawl. Dust, tar from burning wood, coal, oil competes for moisture in clouds to form snow flakes and water droplets big enough to fall to the ground as snow, rain or hail. Excess nuclei to ratio of moisture droplets available it the moist weather front allows clouds to travel mute over the ground and once receiving salt particles and extra moisture over the ocean will rain water back into the sea not over the land. Orographic rain largely is recycled water evapourated flood water from the Murray Darling and recycled as snow and rain off the alps recharging the Murray river system between flood years. Alleviating the boom and bust cycles for farmers forests and the Murray inland environment. Collecting snow melt and rainfall in the alps in the Snowy dams Dartmouth, Eildon, Burrenjuck, Hume weir, Burrendong, Wyangala dams and other impoundments also allows water to be collected and held back in the higher country to be released when needed to finish rain fed crops and provide water for towns and cities. These reservoirs are flood mitigation resources and drought aid to maintain food security and the security of inland fisheries and ground water reserves.
The alps and inland Murray are interconnected in the water cycle. The land run in conjunction with the Federal ACT NSW Victorian government in a memorandum of understanding for management of 1.64 million hectares of the alps once reliably provided annually Murray catchment inflows of about 13100 giga litres (1 billion litres is a Gl) or the lions share of Murray inflows of 12323 Gl annually. Since the 2003-9 infernos this keystone area has become dysfunctional as a water supply because of canopy burn which has worstened the effect of the increasing particulate

In the early 1980s Bob Hawkes government closed down the CSIRO Divisions of Cloud Physics. These researchers led the world from 1947 in understanding rainfall formation making rain, seeding clouds with dry ice (frozen carbon dioxide crystals to begin snowflake formation) to produce rain enough to fill the dams of the Snowy, Warragamba in the Sydney basin, the reservoirs of Chaffy and Copeton near Tamworth, the reservoirs in Tasmania, brought rain to the Perth water supply and wheat belt. Experimentally brought an extra 10-40+% of rainfall to areas offering suitable moisture fronts. The Snowy and Sydney supplies filled within ‘expected best case scenario’ of natural rainfall. 1963 to recently Tasmanian hydro worked with dirty cloud off Latrobe valley increasing rainfall by between 75-750 giga litres annually. Growing the forests and producing crops, hydro electricity among other uses. Bushfire suppression included. In 1983 Bob Hawke on a whim and on the cusp of computer and satellite technology stopped this division of CSIRO in an economic restructure! People said at the time it was inexplicable sabotage and those people affected were not consulted. Grazing the high country enhances biodiversity, national water and food security against unstoppable lethal holocausts such as 2002-9 incidences. Instead of farmers leaving their grain and fodder lines to fight impossible fires their breeding flocks and herds could be on a win win drought aid program grooming the upper Murray vegetation to secure water recycling and forest safety. Bob Hawke said it was an economic decision to close the CSIRO Cloud Physics peer review science, eyes and ears of the people to the effects of his mineral boom for the Australian people. Shut down industry for our youth. Shut down progress and advance of the agricultural and native forest sector effective in hazard reduction fire security of open spaced vegetation. Shut down farmers capacity to develop better farming systems and progress efficiencies on a world market. Once the minerals and coal dug up and exported, Australia is left with broken, contaminated, underground water aquifers. No top soil, no jobs to value add those minerals, coal, gas, uranium, the fire killed forests carbon off sets, the dug up contaminated farms, destitute farm families politically misrepresented by mad men and greed. In 2009 Peter Garrett in the Rudd Government hastily shut down the CSIRO division of forestry and forest products just as the realities of the lethal Black Saturday inferno was hitting Victoria. The divisions library was disassembled and thrown into boxes obstructing the delivery of information available in forest management to prevent such mass extinction events as the Victorian and alpine fires. This was an act of anarchy on behalf of popstar polly Peter Garret as then Minister for Environment in Federal Government. A massive cover up of the implications of those fires for national water supply food security ever after. Craig Knowles once planning minister for Bob Carr in NSW presided over the Murray basin water reform signed off by Tony Burke, Mark Butler before the Rudd Gillard Government was thrown out declaring the Lower Murray endangered when in fact it is a moot point if the catchment intake is more endangered and dysfunctional leading to any ills of the lower Murray as the alps horrors are kept secret by a number of clandestine not so public enquiries with tightly designed terms of reference locking out key information to keep the paying public unaware of the real goings on.

Water evapourated out of the ocean moves across Adelaide, off the land, out of lake Eyre, off irrigated crops and forests used to be recycled by rain and snow falling in the Upper Murray catchment or Snowy mountains. Since the 1930s snow and rainfall on the alps has been declining from dirty cloud wofting off urban and industrial sites. Farmers accused of “over grazing” “over clearing” “over cropping” “over burning” are being used as scapegoats when the townies are not so perfect smoke jockeys. Our Academy of Sciences have done bugger all to deal with industrial particulates as they sit in their affluence bagging farmers and deceiving the people to fund more science at the ski resorts saving frogs and possums not yet victims of bushfire, drought or starvation, eaten by pigs, dogs, foxes, cats or buried in von Muellers blackburies! And the Hawkweed infestation.

The purchase of Toorali irrigation farm in Burke by Peter Garrett then Federal Minister for Environment and pop music with the then Water Minister from Adelaide, Penny Wong have spent public money on a feral pig farm as since the purchase the pigs have made a job of the water bird nests and other biodiversity Toorali supported. Declaration of land as national park is a key threatening process for Australia’s biodiversity.
