to Reconsider Agendas: The Foundation of Successful Meetings Wild Card Motions

On April 4, 2024, the women and auxiliaries of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, State of South Carolina, stood united at our annual SC Zeta Day at the Capitol, embodying our national initiative, The Power of S H E (Social Action, Health Justice and Economic Impact) This wasn't just a gathering; it was a powerful demonstration of our commitment to civic engagement and social action
As we toured the halls of power and received a spirited introduction from Senator Mike Fanning, we were reminded of the weight our collective voice carries In a historic first, our sisterhood was recognized by the Senate for our tireless community service a testament to the growing influence of our organization and the impact of our work But our day of empowerment didn't end at the Capitol At Brookland Baptist Church, we were galvanized by the words of Soror Christale Spain, the groundbreaking first African American chair of the Democratic Party in South Carolina and esteemed member of Rho Kappa Zeta chapter Her keynote address wasn't just a speech; it was a call to action
As we stand on the precipice of the 2024 election, we must remember: our voices are not just our right they are our power. In a world where social and political landscapes are rapidly changing, silence is not an option. We must: Educate: Arm ourselves and our communities with knowledge about the issues that affect us.
Advocate: Speak up for policies that uplift our communities and challenge those that seek to diminish us.
Activate: Mobilize our networks to ensure every eligible voter is registered and ready to cast their ballot.
Participate: Engage in the political process at all levels local, state, and national.
The recognition we received in the Senate chambers is not just an honor; it's a responsibility It's a charge to continue our work, to amplify our efforts, and to be the change we wish to see in our state and our nation
As we approach the 2024 election, let us channel the spirit of our founders and the energy of this day Let every Zeta woman and Amicae be a beacon of civic responsibility, a force for social good, and a champion of democracy Our communities are counting on us Our future is calling us And we, the women of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Incorporated, will answer with strength, with purpose, and with the full power of our collective voice
We extend our deepest gratitude to our South Carolina Social Action Coordinator, Soror Helen Pendarvis, for orchestrating the 2024 Zeta Day at the Capitol This event wasn't just a day on our calendar it was a launching pad for a year of unprecedented engagement and impact
Remember, Sorors and Amicae: In the voting booth, in our communities, and in the halls of power, we are not just participants we are leaders The time for action is now Let's make our voices heard, let's make our votes count, and let's continue to be the change our world needs
