Lighthouse Youth Family Services
Who We Are: Lighthouse Youth & Family Services works to empower young people and families to succeed through a continuum of care that promotes healing and growth. All Lighthouse services are traumainformed and designed to meet each individual’s needs, challenges, and goals. Our core values include integrity, diversity, excellence, adaptability, family, optimism, and respect.
What We Do: Lighthouse serves more than 4,000 children and families each year with a wide range of programs for young people ages 0-24, offered right in their communities, homes, and schools. Lighthouse provides: • Expert mental health and behavioral health care helping young people and families heal and thrive. • Open access to diagnostic assessments to identify mental health or behavioral health concerns for ages three and up. • Foster care and adoption. • Emergency shelter. • Services for infants and toddlers with disabilities or developmental delays. • Services to help youth engaged with the juvenile justice system achieve long-term success. • Community residential treatment facilities. • Youth housing.
Why We’re Important: Lighthouse’s programs are fully accredited and licensed and respond to the changing needs of our community. Operating since 1969, Lighthouse has grown from an agency serving 16 young people daily in Cincinnati to a multi-service organization serving thousands of young people and families statewide. The agency’s work is centered on being a leader in creating a community where every young person has the opportunity to thrive.
How We Serve the Community: Leading the effort to end youth homelessness in Cincinnati, Lighthouse is the only local agency focused on serving young people experiencing homelessness and offers the only local emergency shelter for ages 10-17. Every night, 400 young people sleep under a Lighthouse roof. Employees and volunteers support young people and families seven days a week, providing the best services to young people and families when and where they need it most, whether in the office, home, school, or elsewhere. How You Can Help: Your support of Lighthouse is important and will make a true difference in the lives of young people and families in our community. • Donate a meal for the young people at one of our shelters. • Donate in-kind items throughout the year or during our Happy Holidays Gift Drive. • Make a financial gift online, by check, or through an IRA
Required Minimum Distribution or gift of stock. • Leave a legacy by making a planned gift to have a lasting impact on our community. • Sign up for our email list to keep abreast of Lighthouse news, fundraising events, volunteer opportunities, and more.
