The Leukemia Lymphoma Society Tri-State Chapter

Who We Are: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society is at the forefront of the fight to cure cancer. We are the largest nonprofit dedicated to creating a world without blood cancers. The LLS mission is to cure leukemia, lymphoma, Hodgkin's disease and myeloma, and improve the quality of life of patients and their families.

Since 1949, we’ve invested over $1.3 billion in groundbreaking research, pioneering many of today’s most innovative approaches. We work tirelessly to find cures and ensure patients can access the lifesaving treatments they need. When someone experiences the fear and uncertainty of a cancer diagnosis, we provide hope, compassion, education and support.

What We Do: We fund research to advance lifesaving treatments. There is no way to prevent or screen for most blood cancers, so we focus on finding cures. We prioritize research based on unmet medical needs, and support it at every stage –from early laboratory research to clinical trials that lead to drug approvals by the US FDA. We drive advocacy for policies that protect patient access to treatment at the state and federal level. We drive policies that accelerate new treatments to patients and ensure patients have access to quality affordable care. We also provide education and support to patients and their families.

Why We’re Important: LLS impact in the Cincinnati Area • 1.36 million invested in local region research grants • $1.3 billion invested nationally since the inception of LLS • $44 million invested in new research nationally last year • $1.466 million was distributed to 530 patients through Co-Pay &

Travel Assistance Programs

How We Serve the Community: As the leading source of free blood cancer education and support for patients, survivors, and caregivers, LLS helps patients navigate their cancer treatments and access quality, affordable, coordinated care. With robust patient-focused services and programs, we support patients and their families throughout their cancer journey to help them get the care they need. How You Can Help: Your participation helps fund groundbreaking research to find cures, provide patient support and education, and promote advocacy efforts to benefit patients. The funds raised are used by LLS for new life-saving re-search approaches, including precision medicine and immunotherapies. We offer timely information and support for newly diagnosed blood cancer patients and families and support advocacy efforts for federal and state laws & policies to ensure patients have access to lifesaving treatments and cures. You can participate in an event, donate to our cause or volunteer for our organization.
