Who We Are: The Apartment Association Outreach is a 501(c) 3, non-profit charitable organization. OUTREACH was originally founded in 1991 to provide clothing and household items to families in need. Since 2000, we focus on 5 major programs to provide basic needs and emergency assistance to families and individuals in crisis. With the help of our social service partners they identify the need in our community. Our partners include Freestore Foodbank, CAIN (Churches Active in Northside), Jewish Family Services and Santa Maria Community Services.
What We Do: With the help of many volunteers and sponsors, each year 3 fundraising events are held to support our 5 programs. In the spring we host a 5k 4 Rent event with a timed run and walk through beautiful Friendship Park along the river. In the fall, we host a Night Out for Outreach with many industry leaders and the community in attendance. This night is full of fun with music, great food, fundraising and a short program of our good deed. In December, we enjoy the Holiday Cheers for Outreach benefit party. Many gift items available with the purchase of Raffle tickets, Silent and Live Auctions.
How We Serve the Community: We serve the community with the support of our 5 programs: • Rent Assistance provided in the Greater Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky area • Food Distribution to 20 food pantries, twice a year. • Backpack supplies and distribution in conjunction with Santa Maria Community Services and the Price
Hill Back to School Fair. • Senior events held at affordable living facilities providing a hot meal and a fun game of Bingo. • Scholarships are awarded to candidates currently employed in the apartment industry for the National Apartment
Association Education Institute designation programs.
Post-secondary scholarships are awarded to college students.
Why We’re Important: During Covid-19 we didn’t stop fundraising for the community and those in need of housing, food and school supplies. When Covid-19 was announced we immediately canceled the 5K 4 Rent fundraiser, nevertheless, our Sponsorships and Registrations were kind enough to donate their money to our event, asking for no refunds. We continued our plan to supply backpacks and school supplies to 1300 students. In place of volunteers filling backpacks with supplies and the Back to School Drive canceled, we scheduled deliveries to 6 school locations. Our Night Out for Outreach was canceled and replaced with a very successful 2020 Fundraiser Campaign. Lastly, the Holiday Cheers event was canceled and replaced with an Online Auction.
