FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Michigan Avenue Gets Nasty! Nasty Gal, successful online retailer of vintage women’s clothing, brings first retail store to Chicago

CHICAGO, IL, Nov. 6, 2014 — Chicagoland, prepare to get Nasty! Nasty Gal, among the fastest growing web retailers (nastygal.com) in the county, will begin occupying brick and mortar for the first time at 555 North Michigan Avenue on November 14. Nasty Gal buys and sells women’s clothing, shoes and accessories both new and vintage, and can transform any look with the correct styling. While thousands flock to nastygirl.com for their unique vintage discoveries, our new Michigan Avenue store will appeal to those who like to touch and feel their finds, and get some styling tips before deciding to purchase them. Coined the “Cinderella of Tech” by the New York Times, Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso turned an eBay store into a web retailer selling nearly $100 million of clothing and accessories from 2009 to 2011. She started the store mimicking her own style and her idea of what a “coolgirl” is. The name Nasty Gal is named after a 1975 Betty Davis album and the singer’s outspoken and unapologetically sexy style. Amoruso’s unique finds and constant conversation with her customers created a loyal following. Amoruso has sold her clothing to models, celebrities and trendsetters for years making brands like Jeffrey Campbell even more recognizable. After collaborating with Sophia Amoruso and Nasty Gal on several new looks for her current book tour, Lena Dunham, American actress, screenwriter, producer and director of HBO’s “Girls,” said: “This is the most fun thing that’s ever happened to me.” Learn more and find Nasty Gal discounts on Twitter, FaceBook, Tumblr, Instagram and Pinterest.
