STATEMENT

Dalin, is an hard-working and detail-oriented fresh graduate. She has observed art and architecture in various culture through travel and some researching. During the under graduate study, she involes with group activities and some volunteer as Production De signer in Bonnphum Festival 2018 and 2019. Also, she was a part of community work as a Monitor in a non-organization known as PSE. She is motivated by the venarcular, minimal and sustainable design. She believes architectecture is an appealing and inter esting created art, yet functional that offer the people safety, identity, connection of man and nature. Plus, she offers the knowledge of some architecture software programe. She believes in the language of architecture about changes in this world and aspires to reach this goal through her works, yet involved with motivated architecture firm surely make a change together.

Starting from the ground floor, the user will experience the varieties of spaces that have been divided. The communal area and half-enclosed courtyard are the open space that offers freedom for both user and the nature. Moving forward the library and Makerspace that design to boost the meaning of no boundaries in education.

Straight up to the first floor, the communal area still design to be an open structure in the way to offer space for students to practice and self-study in daylight and a nature ven tilation environment. Classes are all designed with flexi bility based on the subject of the class.

2THE RED BLOCK

The site location is in Chroy Jong Va district, Chroy Jong Va commune, Phnom Penh, Cambodia. The site sits on a very potential place at the east of the Mekong river which offer the view and the fresh breeze from the river. It was surrounded by the privilege family house, school, and market. This villa provide the modern space to 5 member family.

The conceptual of this twin villa is to bring back the Cambodian so cial interaction which always live a life to be surrounded by nature. The ground floor designs a small courtyard with the fish koi which water can flow through under understair relax place. This courtyard offers the stack ventilaion and natural light flow into every part of the house. The second floor design into 3 bedrooms and have 3 small balconies with it, and a terrace. The third floor is an open-space and the utility for any occassion celebration and small rooftop gardening. The special about the design is using the ventilation brick to have enough natural ventilation as what Cambodian people usually experience, and also to reduce the amount of enery cosumption, and bring the lively living lifestyle.

Site location is located in the new master plan that we studied in 3rd project which is in ARIEY KSATR village, ARIEY KSATR, LVEA AEM, KANDAL, CAMBODIA. This is a po tential location to erect a new building in this new master plan planning as it is nearby PHNOM PENH, has a good view of riverfront that allow us to see the other side of the river coast which has the city view. To arrive the site location we only take 10mins from the another side of river coast. Moreover, there will be a bridge that connected from CHROY CHONGVA to SVAY CHRUM village so that it’s going to facilitate on transportation for arrive site location faster. Also, the complete masterplan is one our school project of planning the satellite city masterplan.

Our site is located in the area which full of agriculture fields and most residence who live there are doing as farmers. In the next future, that area is going to be developed and that will change and amelio rate their culture og living. Along the way of developing, they will require to adjust with new lifestyle,so we create something that can still connect them to the new environment. So, we want to create a tower that intergrate with nature. Beside, we know that the easiest that facilitate the old residence there to adjust faster is NATURE.

THE COMMUNING

The communing is one of the school projects of designing a condo to be the heart of the area. The communing is the residential community that develops into 3 zones which consist 3 main buildings and outdoor accessibilities. One of the 3 main buildings is the community mall is designed to support the other 2 buildings which are the residential area. The residential building offers five condos sized to make the diversity and enriching living.

The mass building orients from east to west facing north and south. The 3 masses also switch their po sitions by not facing directly toward each other that allow all surfaces of each mass to obtain enough direct daylight and natural ventilation. The connecting bridge is designed to reconnect the community living experiences and allow the phenomenon of city view.

SALT FARM INTERPRETATION CENTER 5

The Salt farm interpretation center is designed to raise awareness of traditional salt farming in Treuy Koh Kampot where the best salt resource is. The interpretation center developed into 3 zones: administration, exhibition area, and salt production that is carefully designed to be able to demonstrate traditional salt farming and offer a sense of community enrichment.

The main building of salt production that salt storage, salt crystalizing, and, salt packaging included is designed with an open structure to allow enough daylight and natural ventilation. Exhibition space is also designed with half open structure.

SITE LOCATION

Our site location is in the Institute of Foreign Lan guages of Royal Universi ty of Phnom Penh, Russian Federation Blvd. (110), Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Also, it sits on the west garden of the IFL library. We selected this site since we spot the potential of it with the tree and its small area suitable to design a new environment like a pavilion. The site area is 340 m2.

PLAN

CONCEPT AND FUNCTION

The floating hammock pavilion is the simple construction which is designed to show the potential of local material like bamboo. This pavilion is not just an open structure, but it gives place to sit and relax.

This pavilion concept is inspired by The gallery of Origin pavilion. The varying height of structure lets spaces into spaces flow into each other to create natural ventilation. Setting the living plant to absorb the harmful air and bring back the clean air. This pavilion is the combination of the ver nacular construction and the recent construction system. Also, it emphasizes the relationship between humans, nature and space. The floating hammock gives the users the new experience of climbing like they’re in the forest. The formed shape was designed from the form of IFL.
