Our Sustainability Academy brings together our educational initiatives to aid the teaching of renewable energy and sustainability related topics. At Sonnedix, we want to inspire the problem solvers of tomorrow to overcome the challenge of climate change and to raise awareness of renewable energy and sustainability topics.
JOIN OUR EDUCATION PROGRAMME
Virtual lessons about a range of topics relating to climate change, renewable energy and sustainability, including virtual reality visits to our projects!
Enrol you in our ‘Train the Teacher’ programme, to broaden the knowledge you need to teach about renewable energy, climate change and sustainability.
Educational materials to help with learning about relevant topics, including books, STEM experiment and craft boxes, eco-stationary, among others.
OUR OFFER
Free classroom resources, including presentations, lesson plans and activity sheets for different age groups that can be downloaded from our Sonnedix Sustainability Academy webpage.
Help make your school more sustainable by installing biodiversity-friendly measures, improving recycling stations and driving awareness campaigns to help the children understand the importance of these.
THE FUTURE OF EDUCATION
CREATIVE LEARNING
We are implementing and also searching for creative ways to engage young learners.
Games, books, illustrations, project kits and applications all offer potential for authentic learning.
SITE VISITS
We are excited about welcoming classrooms and learning groups to our projects where our engineers can facilitate in person* tours and learning sessions with discussion tailored to the age groups in attendance.

VIRTUAL AND AUGMENTED REALITY
It’s not always possible to travel and we aspire to be inclusive. We have created a ‘virtual visit’ to our projects through the use of VR technology to transport your classroom to our largest solar plant in the Atacama desert in Chile.

OTHER RECENT EDUCATIONAL ACTIVITIES
ENVIRONMENTAL INITIATIVES
By partnering with schools we provide funding for projects relevant to their sites. Our latest success has been enabling a recycling initiative at a school in London including a recycling related arts and crafts competition for pupils.
BOOK DONATIONS
Age appropriate books on sustainability and climate change have been donated to schools and environmental NGOs across many of the countries we operate in.
VIRTUAL CLASSES
Our passionate professionals regularly conduct virtual renewable energy workshops for schools across the world. We’ve recently implemented a workshop for a school in Spain which assisted pupils with their research and enabled discussion with industry professionals.
TRAIN THE TRAINER
WE WANT TO CREATE A RENEWABLE LEGACY LEARNING ISN’T JUST FOR THE KIDS!
Sonnedix is developing ‘Train the Trainer’ workshops which aim to equip individuals with the knowledge and resources needed to teach others about renewable energy and climate change.
We strive to create a network of sustainability educators and ambassadors, from a variety of different educational backgrounds, who can teach the problem solvers of tomorrow about these important subjects.
