Distributed Version Control System (DVCS) Distributed version control systems are designed especially for open source software projects. The DVCS enables branching and merging and lets users work in two ways by storing documents on the local repository as well as by synchronizing the documents to the server. With this approach, developers can work individually on the same project and can share their work with the team by synchronizing the modifications made. The work done in DVCS is comparatively faster than that in CVCS, as the files are stored locally. These are more widely trending as developers can work on files without the need for network connection.
