Understand the different kinds of renders Render is outer wall coating. It is applied to protect the surface material from getting deteriorated due to weathering and water penetration. In addition, it gives a decorative effect to the exterior walls.

Insulating renders - Insulation layer gets built on existing external walls and then professionals render over this insulated wall. It is a complex process and needs you to get help from a licensed contractor.
