I purchased this 1829 printing of the Constitution of Uruguay (printed and distributed before the adoption of the first Constitution in 1830, which we usually term the 1830 Constitution) from the family of President José Batlle y Ordóñez at an auction held on 15 October 2022. The description of the Constitution as provided in its proof of provenance is below. I am honored to hold this original printing and to share its review and use knowing that President José Batlle y Ordóñez kept it on his desk during his Presidential terms.
