This passport appears modern. It comes in a light blue cardboard cover. The size is 4 inches by 6 inches. It is the era of the "new" passport. But when we open it, we find that it is still a "Type A" passport, in my nomenclature, which means that it has no field for nationality (nor does it have one for "citizenship"). Instead, "Uruguaya" is written in after the name of the Uruguayan, just as it had been for "Legal Citizens" since 1919.
