In this master’s thesis, a conceptual design of the innovative educational center of culinary art, located in the city center of Ormož, is presented. I propose a new public program that stems from the existing social, cultural and culinary character of the wider area. The majority of the premises are intended for education, innovation and development in culinary arts, while a restaurant with kitchen serve as a “heart of the building” by cultivating social interaction and promoting local cuisine. With a modern architectural design, which is based on local tradition but at the same time respects current gastronomic trends, I want to create a social generator, not only for Ormož, but the entire Prlekija region.
