Where should your development come from?

When looking to develop yourself consider where you will get your learning from. Consider the 70:20:10 rule, 70% of your learning comes from on the job, 20% is through others with the remaining 10% coming from formal courses. This ratio should be reflected in your personal development plan.

Future leaders programme The Future Leaders Programme has been designed to harness the potential of our staff who have demonstrated the desire and motivation to progress into a senior role within our business. It has been developed to help instil a sense of humility that is the foundation of the ever-learning leader.

The two-day programme introduces the role of a leader and what makes a great leader whilst incorporating effective communication and coaching skills.

This provides a sound base on which a future leader can then tailor their further development to prepare them to be a successful candidate for any senior role within our business which may become available for them to apply for in the future.

Programmes Investing in our leaders Being a great leader is more than running 1-2-1’s, having key conversations, managing performance etc, it is about human connection to those around you. To build that connection with others you first need to be able to connect with yourself.

We want to create experiences where participants are able draw on their own professional challenges to actively connect to the programme experience and business simulations to who they are, what they do and how they function on the job.

Our approach to leadership development is just that to support our leaders of now and the future to develop their awareness of their self and tap into their strengths and highlight development opportunities which will then help them become effective leaders.

Leadership development programme Our leadership programme has been developed to encourage and support our new leaders to recognise their own leadership preferences and understand where and how they can develop any skill gaps. Additional services Leadership Effectiveness Questionnaire To assist our leaders in recognising what they do well and what they could do better we have created a leadership effectiveness questionnaire which can be completed by their team members, peers, and their Line mangers to provide constructive, meaningful, and useful feedback.

A member of the L&D team will facilitate the request and receipt of the feedback.

Once all feedback has been received, we will collate it and arrange a development session to discuss the findings and help create a development plan become available in the future.
