It’s FA Trophy day!
It’s that time of the season where the league gets put on hold and we enter the cup competitions. Last week was so disappointing to go out of the FA Cup but as we know very well, the FA Trophy is another route to Wembley and it feels like we have unfinished business at that stadium.
I actually thought we played well against Bromley last week. We conceded a goal that was offside and then a soft one at a time when we were just starting to get on top in the game. I thought the last few minutes were exciting cup football and we certainly threw everything at them with our keeper in their box and Bromley pinned back.
I don’t think there was a massive difference between the two teams, which is encouraging because Bromley are more than holding their own in the league above and that’s where we aim to be as soon as possible.
Sadly it wasn’t to be but so many people have said how well we came across as a club with the atmosphere and the facilities We have made huge strides over the last few years on and off the pitch and hopefully there are many more big games to come, this season and over the coming years.
Finally a warm welcome to everyone who has travelled down with Radcliffe. We have done our homework, we know they are a very dangerous side and it should provide us with another great game of football this afternoon. Get behind the team and enjoy the game,
Darryl
We don’t often see a Moors keeper in the opposition’s penalty area, so this alone makes it unusual photograph.
Alex Whitmore looking to get a touch on the ball, as the ball isn;t in shot, it could well have been an ‘air shot’ feet off the ground and an athletic posed body shape makes it a nice picture.
Bozzy putting a cross into the area, a nice shape and with grass divots kicked up behind the player, the only thing that spoils this is the ball isn’t sharply in focus, but nevertheless a decent picture.
Anthony Johnson and Bernard Morley
Radcliffe’s Management team started out as a duo at Ramsbottom in 2009 before a three hyear stint in carge of Salford as the club;s transformation and rise into tje Football league began. IN may 2018 they moved on to Cjhester, staying for four years before joining Spennymoor HAving then spent nine months out of the game they returned as a Management team at Radcliffe, Morley’s home town
Jordan Hulme
The number nine teamed up with his former managers after a successful spell in the National League The hold up is a dual threat, with both a clinical shot and a precision pass in his arsenal, which helped him to over 40 goals involvements in 23/24 A proven goal scorer at all steps of non-league, Hulme has found the net for, AFC Fylde, Salford City, Padiham and Ramsbottom

It’s that time of year when our Christmas activities get closer and closer. One thing that is popular each year is our Christmas Appeal.
Last Year, we were involved in reaching over 200 families to ensure that they received a gift over the Christmas period. We were blown away by the support that generosity that was shown last year and are looking forward to doing the same this year.
This year we have supported in access off 1000 people with our community outreach programmes and want to give them something to give them a happy Christmas.
We therefore want to launch our Christmas selection pack and biscuits appeal and are inviting fans and our wider community to donate. Over December we will then share some festive spirit by handing out to our community project such as:
Our free school meal camps
SEND youth club
Elderly sports sessions
Refugee project
Care home sessions
Solihull Hospital Foundation
Christmas Dinner
The collection period is open now until Saturday 21st December.
Foundation staff will be on hand on match days to collect, or alternatively you can drop in to reception week days.
Many thanks for your support and helping us to spread a little Christmas cheer.
Moors were pleased to host E ON Next’s Kids In Motorsport day in partnership with E ON Next Veloce Racing
71 lucky primary-age schoolchildren from the Solihull area, were treated to an eye-opening array of activities centred around the world of energy, racing and football, all tied together by an exciting motorsport theme After a warm welcome by SKY Kids FYI’s, Scarlett Archer and motorsport presenter, Amber Jones, the children all aged between 9 and 11-years-old and from Tudor Grange, Smiths Wood, and the Heights Primary Schools, were put through their paces with an invigorating warm up by Head Coach, Andy Whing.
The children then went back inside to take part in seven ‘skill stations’ which were all staffed by motorsport and STEM experts in their individual fields Jamey Osborne and Conor Wilkinson also dropped in to sign autographs for the delighted schoolchildren and staff
Solihull Moors Women battled hard but were beaten 3-1 at Boldmere St. Michaels last Sunday
Moors were ahead when Sarah Ghanem slotted the ball home after pressing a defender and they held the lead until half time with keeper Georgeiann Buttle preserving the lead with a fine save before the break
However the hosts equalised early in the second half courtesy of Rhidi Ruparelia
Ghanem came close once again to restoring the Moors’ lead in the same fashion as her first goal but her effort was narrowly tipped over the bar before The Mikes took the lead with a pass from Jade Formaston finding Anna Wilcox who smashed it into the top corner. A chance then opened up for Moors when Lexi Blaxland won a free kick 25 yards out and Alex Liddiard came close but hit the crossbar.
T and Boldmere then widened the gap with a strike from Molly Towers from the edge of the box making its way to the back of the net.
Moors continued to chase the game but despite a fantastic effort, they failed to claw back the game as Manager Joe Kirkland tod us:
“The team are working so hard and you can see there is progress even in defeat We had our chances to get something out of the game but it’s a new group and it’s going to take a little time to settle. But having said that, the first thing you need is commitment and spirit and that’s something this group is certainly showing.”
Next Fixture: Sutton Coldfield Town Sunday 8th December (A)
