Good evening and a warm welcome to Damson Park for tonight’s National League fixture against Sutton United.
As always, we extend a special welcome to our visiting officials, players, staff, and supporters who have made the journey to be with us this evening. We look forward to an entertaining game under the lights.
I’m just following up on my previous set of programme notes which sought to bring some sort of explanation as to how this season has unfolded.
Since then, the injury situation has been compounded by the loss of Conor Wilkinson and Sam Bowen, probably for the rest of the season! The tackle on Conor was particular outrageous and we now lose one of our talisman. We know we are underperforming.
Notwithstanding the litany of problems we have experienced, we urgently need to get a win on the board - and start being more defensively resilient and keeping clean sheets
The togetherness and collective desire and determination to put things right is undiminished but this needs to be reflected in our performances on the pitch.
Over the past few weeks, Stephen Ward and the manager have been working tirelessly to bring in reinforcements. It’s not just a numbers game though - the replacements must improve us.
To this end, I’m delighted we welcome one new addition to strengthen the squad.
Robbie Cundy brings a wealth of defensive experience and a commanding presence at the back. I knew him from my Oxford days and his ability to read the game and his leadership qualities will be invaluable.
Whilst writing, I just wanted to express my thanks to Kyle Morrison and Matty Warburton
Both are excellent players but are also individuals who I like and respect and with whom I enjoy an excellent relationship. I wish them every success in the future
As we enter the business end of the season, every game and every point matters more than ever.
Your loyal support has been exemplary, both home and away, and the players know they owe you some better performances urgently
I know you will get right behind them tonight and let’s hope that our turnaround in results begins this evening
The best of the action with Richard King
Szhem Whyte-Hall is gearing up for one of his signature long throws. I first saw Szhem at the start of last season when he played for Redditch Borough. His talent quickly caught the attention of Mike Fowler, who wasted no time bringing him to Studley. After overcoming an injury, he’s now back to his best and has earned his place in the squad.
Marcel locked in a challenge in the box, maintaining a strong, athletic stance.
other shot of Fletch, this time from the Aldershot ay game. He had just taken his shot when he red, and even in his follow-through, his eyes mained firmly on the prize.
Tunney battling in the Shots' box, trying to get on the end of a Szhem long throw. Great to see him back on the pitch after a long injury layoff. This was also the first outing for my new mirrorless camera far superior to the old one!

The visitors started well, with Jamey Osborne firing over after a promising move involving Joe Newton and Sam Bowen.
However, Sutton broke the deadlock after just 14 minutes when Ashley Nadesan chased down a long ball and squared it for Jack Wadham, who calmly slotted past Laurie Walker.

Aldershot Town secured a 3-1 victory over Solihull Moors at the EBB Stadium, with three first-half goals proving decisive despite Fletcher Holman netting his third goal in four games.
Aldershot took the lead inside the first minute when Cameron Hargreaves volleyed past Ollie Wright. Aaron Jones doubled the advantage in the 16th minute, finishing from close range. Ryan Jones made it 3-0 in the 37th minute, slotting past Wright after a clever reverse pass. Solihull created chances, with Whyte-Hall and Oakley testing Aldershot's keeper, but they couldn’t convert.
Solihull pushed to reduce the deficit, with Holman having two early chances denied. He eventually pulled one back in the 76th minute, finishing coolly after latching onto a long ball. However, their comeback hopes took a hit when Conor Wilkinson was sent off two minutes later. Despite late efforts, Aldershot held firm for the win.
Solihull Moors Football Club are pleased to announce the loan signing of experienced defender Robbie Cundy from Notts County for the remainder of the 2024/25 season, subject to league and FA approval.
Robbie, 27, began his career in the youth setups of Oxford United and Aston Villa before embarking on a professional journey that has seen him gain valuable experience across various tiers of English football.
His career includes notable spells at clubs such as Gloucester City, Bath City, Bristol City, and Barnsley. In July 2024, he signed with Notts County, where he has made several appearances this season.
Standing at 6 ft 2 in, Robbie is known for his aerial prowess and defensive solidity. His addition to the Moors' squad will bolster the team's defensive options as we push for a strong finish to the season.
Welcome to Solihull, Robbie!
The last week at the Solihull Moors Foundation has been nothing short of incredible.
Our half-term camp saw a fantastic increase in participation, with 72 children booking on up from 53 last year. It was also fantastic to welcome 15 new faces who experienced the fun, teamwork, and development opportunities our camp has to offer.
Here are some of the standout moments from the week:
A brilliant mix of teamwork and cooperation across all sessions. New activities introduced that proved to be a real hit. Solihull Moors Women were left disappointed as they were defeated by Loughborough Lightning on Sunday Moors were looking to shine against Loughborough but it wasn’t long before the hosts opened the scoring and then doubled their lead within the ten-minute mark, courtesy of Claudia Jones scoring directly from a corner and Lydia Tilbury-Henry who tapped home from close range.
Loughborough limited Moors, a free-kick taken by Katelyn Smith just going wide of the post being the best chance of the opening exchanges.
A speedy reaction save from Zoe Millington kept Loughborough from grabbing their third as they looked to extend their lead just before the end of the opening 45 minutes.
As the second half opened up, with Moors looking to get a foothold back in the game, Jessica Collyer ran through the Moors defence and slotted the ball past Millington and widening the gap.
However, it didn’t take long for the visitors to find their footing and make the game a lot more even.
A chance for Moors to leave the starting block with a free-kick on the edge of the box taken by Lexi Blaxland, just narrowly missing the net.
Another incredible save from Millington kept Loughborough out once again with her dive to block the ball from crossing the line leaving the result 3-0 at full time.
