BOXY
Boxy, a Social Enterprise Business set up by 12 Sixth Form Students at Kings Norton Sixth Form, is excited to launch its Football Boot Donation Programme, in its push to reduce waste whilst encouraging young people to participate in sports.
Boxy has been set up as part of the Young Enterprise Company Programme and as a social enterprise they trade for social and environmental purposes, with a dedication to reducing waste whilst promoting youth sports participation.
The Boxy Football Boot Donation programme aims to provide children in need with access to upcycled boots, ensuring they can participate in football regardless of financial constraints.
Jake Williams Managing Director of Boxy said “We believe that no young person should ever be declined the chance to partake in sports because they can’t afford the ridiculous price of a typical pair of football boots, and we hope our initiative will help young people and give them the opportunity to get involved in sports.”
How You Can Support
Have you got a spare pair of boots sitting around at your house collecting dust?
On the 22nd March, 2025, Boxy will be attending the Solihull Moors Football Club game against Yeovil Town, and will be positioned at the entrance to the club collecting any donations of second-hand football boots from members of the public, there will also be an opportunity to make financial donations, no matter how small, to support our initiative.
Boxy look forward to taking any boot donations off your hands and giving them a new lease of life.
Please support and follow the Boxy journey by following us on Instagram or TikTok @boxyboots or please contact us at: boxyboots@outlook.com

chairman notes

Welcome to today’s game against Ebbsfleet.
Writing the programme notes are fairly challenging at the moment without sounding like a broken record!
I speak alot about maintaining a balanced perspective and this week I had the pleasure of addressing groups of students at my old school, Camp Hill, and at Arden in Knowle.
It was refreshing to see the enthusiasm of the students and I’m delighted that the crowd today will be enhanced by many of them attending today.
The sessions were focused on ‘winning in the game of life’ where I sought to pass on some of the lessons I have learned over the last 40 years
Giving the sessions reminded me that too often I don’t take the advice that I seek to impart!
Much of the focus was on the importance of work ethic, of personal obligation and responsibility and of personal qualities such as adopting a positive attitude, of perseverance and resilience whilst also staying grounded and confronting the brutal reality of where you are.
There is no doubt that we are going through a challenging period with multiple causes. But we are where we are
Looking forward we know we need to maximise performances with the resources we have and ensure we get the positive results which will allow us to turn our full attention to planning for next season.
I thought, although not pretty, that last Tuesday’s performance was a step in the right direction.
James Clarke’s man of the match interview epitomised all that Moors stand for and I was especially taken when he said, “I love this club - I’ll play in any position and give 100% every time.”
We are still looking to bring in additional players to offset the injury situation and hopefully Ozzy will be back today.
The loyal support of the vast majority of fans is uplifting and motivating and is truly appreciated by all of us. Together we will come through this tricky period and emerge stronger
Best wishes,
Darryl Eales

ACTION SHOTS

The best of the action with Richard King
Stevo is on the verge of committing a foul on the Sutton defender, though I can confidently say the contact was minimal. The sequence that follows captures Jack’s reaction and protests, which were entirely justified given the nature of the challenge.
Marcel is locked in a physical contest, battling to gain control of the ball out on the Moors’ right flank. This shot embodies the classic Oakley style full of energy, determination, and a relentless pursuit of possession.
Fletcher Holman is driving purposefully into the Sutton penalty area, his body shape and posture perfectly illustrating his attacking intent. The shot captures the intensity and focus in his movement as he looks to create a scoring opportunity.
Alex Whitmore finds himself in an unusual role inside the Sutton penalty area. Typically, he’s the one attacking crosses, but here, he’s the one delivering the ball a rare sight that adds an interesting twist to this moment.
Manny Duku makes his debut for Moors, having only signed on the day of the match. Watching him take to the pitch immediately brought back memories of Kyle Hudlin—there was a nostalgic feel to the night as history seemed to echo through the occasion.

Solihull Moors earned a 1-1 draw against Sutton United at Damson Park, with Jack Stevens' header cancelling out Eduino Vaz’s early opener.
Vaz struck in the ninth minute after a low cross was cleared into his path, allowing him to finish into the far corner. The Moors responded in the 19th minute when a John Bostock free-kick led to Olly Tipton setting up Stevens for the equaliser.
Both sides had chances before halftime, with Jack Sims denying Stevens a second goal and Moors defenders blocking Sutton’s close-range efforts. The second half was a tight contest, with substitute Manny Duku coming close for the hosts and Lewis Simper testing Ollie Wright with a powerful strike.
In the final moments, Stevens had a chance to win it for Moors after cutting inside and curling a shot toward goal, but Sims made a comfortable save. A solid defensive display from both teams ensured the points were shared.

Manager Joe Kirkland has announced the latest additions to the Solihull Moors Women coaching staff with Georgia Mahoney being appointed as Sports Psychologist in training and Paviter Kahlon as Sports Scientist.
stopping people from achieving their potential such as stress, lack of confidence, so if we can support each other with these aspects then it can only be positive."

Georgia will support our Moors Women players and staff with understanding their psychological thoughts, feelings and emotions. Each player will be supported one-two-one, and staff will also be given the opportunity to be supported.
Moors Women manager Joe had this to say "Georgia already has had a huge impact on all of us, our aim is to develop the person before the player, so with the introduction of Georgia I know it'll really benefit us.
I've always pushed for a psychologist to be involved with us here, and also at my former club, I think in life there's plenty of barriers
Paviter Kahlon has been appointed as sports scientist, Pav will focus on the delivery of strength & conditioning sessions, data tracking, and supporting players with matchday nutrition.
Pav is currently studying a Bachelor of applied sports and exercise science at Liverpool John Moors University.
We look forward to seeing their impact and working together to drive the womens team forward.

Georgia will also work with the coaching staff to implement psychological strategies into training sessions and matchdays.

Solihull Moors Women are back at home this weekend as they welcome Boldmere St. Michaels to Studley Sports Centre. (3.00pm KO)
Following last week’s defeat at the hands of Loughborough Lightning, Moors are looking for a win on home territory on Sunday.
Manager, Joe Kirkland has this to say ahead of the game:
"Boldmere are a quality side, they play progressive football and are also really aggressive out of possession, a combination of these two things always makes it difficult for the opposition.
Having said this, we believe that we are likely to get chances, and when we get these it's important that we are ruthless in front of goal.
The Opposition
Boldmere, who are currently fifth in the table, are raring to pick up another three points in Studley. Anna Wilcox is their top goal scorer with nine goals this season, making her a key member of their team.
