Good afternoon, everyone, and a very warm welcome to Damson Park for today’s National League fixture against Hartlepool United.
A warm welcome extends to Hartlepool’s directors, players, staff, and supporters who have made the journey to join us this afternoon. We hope you enjoy your visit and have a safe trip home later.
Last Saturday, we witnessed a performance to savour as the team delivered a sensational 6-0 victory away at Ebbsfleet United.
Andy Whing and the players deserve immense credit for the way they handled what could have been a challenging afternoon, particularly after being reduced to ten men early in the first-half.
Rather than retreat, the squad rose to the challenge, showing both resilience and determination, capped off with a ruthless streak in front of goal that was a joy to watch.
This victory epitomised the spirit and quality of this group, and the result stands as one of the highlights of the season so far.
However, football has a way of moving quickly, and today offers an opportunity to build on that fantastic display. Consistency will be key as we push forward in what is shaping up to be an exciting season for the Moors.
Off the pitch, I would like to draw your attention to the outstanding work being done by the Moors Foundation, particularly through their Christmas Appeal. As we approach the festive period, this initiative plays a crucial role in supporting those most in need within our local community.
I encourage all our fans to support this worthy cause in any way they can whether through donations or spreading the word.
Together, we can make a real difference this Christmas.
Thank you all for your unwavering support, and let’s get behind the team once again today as we look to keep our momentum going.
Enjoy the match, and let’s hope for another memorable afternoon!
Alex Whitmore, pure emotion after scoring his 1st of the season, enough said
this shot is a few frames afterwards during the Whits goal celebration, I always have to be ready for someone to jump on top of the huddle, in this one Jack Stevens is the man, in the past Callum Howe and Alex Gudger were the ‘culprits’.
Clarkey breaking away from the melee in the box to receive a short corner, a nice framing of the shot. It is always fascinating to see the set up for both our free kicks and the oppositions perceived threat at theirs when I attend the Friday training session
Jack Stevens running to receive the ball from Joe Newton after the previous set piece had been cleared out to the flank I like this one as it is almost perfectly framed, and focussed which is a hard thing to achieve when the subject is on the move
Mikey at full stretch running into the Alty penalty area, what a great addition this man has been to the squad.
Solihull sink Fleet for six at the Kuflink Stadium!
Conor Wilkinson scored his first hat-trick for Solihull Moors, as Andy Whing’s side beat Ebbsfleet United by 0-6 in a ruthless, second-half performance.
The match began with the hosts having a chance inside two minutes; playing the ball for Jephte Tanga, who saw his left-footed shot steer wide of the goal.
In the fifth minute, James Clarke was shown a red card for a foul on Kwame Thomas on the halfway line.
Ten minutes later, Laurie Walker was called into action for the first time as Aaron Cosgrave had a shot from close range, but the goalkeeper made a great reaction stop before the Moors cleared the ball.
On 22 minutes, Walker made another save to deny Thomas as the ball was played on the left-hand side. Thomas tried to send the ball underneath the goalkeeper, but Walker made the save.
On the half an hour mark, an Ebbsfleet corner was met by Anthony Stewart but could only turn the ball wide of Walker’s goal.
Two minutes later, the ball found its way to Cosgrave on the edge of the box, who had a shot on the half-volley. His shot was well struck but failed to hit the target.
On 39 minutes, Stewart won a header at the far post from a corner but could only head the ball over the bar.
Moors took the lead with an Ebbsfleet player turning the ball into his own net. Osborne’s free kick was sent into a dangerous area, as the ball was turned in by Stewart to make it 0-1.
A minute later, the Moors doubled their lead with Michael Adu-Poku opening his account for the club. The winger had no player ahead of him on the right-hand side as he received the ball, before driving at the Ebbsfleet defenders and rifling a shot across goal.
On 58 minutes, it was 0-3 as Andy Whing’s side were clinical in front of goal. Another counterattack led to Osborne having the ball on the edge of the box and sliding a pass to Wilkinson, who emphatically placed a shot past the Ebbsfleet keeper.
On 60 minutes, the Moors scored a fourth with Wilkinson scoring his second. A counter attack was led by Stevens, who was bringing the ball forward before cutting the ball back for Wilkinson. From there, Wilkinson poked the ball underneath the keeper.
Five minutes later, a penalty was awarded to Ebbsfleet after Ben Chapman was fouled inside the box, but Walker guessed the right way to deny Cosgrave as he dived low to make the save.
Five minutes later, Wilkinson completed his hattrick with another brilliant Moors counter. AduPoku sprinted down the centre of the pitch before passing the ball to Wilkinson, who calmly sent the ball past Cousins to make it 0-5.
In the fourth minute of stoppage time, the Moors scored a sixth with Bowen scoring. Matty Warburton and Bowen played a brilliant passing play around the Ebbsfleet penalty area, before Warburton sent the ball in the path of Bowen to make it six and give the Moors all three points.

Goals from Tahvon Campbell and Callum Maycock was enough for the Moors to claim all three points at home to Hartlepool United.
On 40 minutes, Alex Whitmore sent a long ball over the top of the Hartlepool defence with Stevens trying to latch onto the pass, but Louis Stephenson was there to deny any shot on goal as the Moors went into the break with the lead.
Solihull doubled their lead after 66 minutes with Maycock continuing his goalscoring form. After chasing a loose through ball, Campbell forced Dixon into losing the ball to Stevens who played it into the striker on the edge of the box. Campbell then backheeled the ball into the path of Maycock who slotted the ball home into the far corner.

Solihull Moors Women exit the Birmingham FA County Cup after falling to defeat against Knowle Ladies.
Despite the rainy conditions, both teams started out positively, really looking to make an impression on the game. Moors were eager to take the lead, with a fabulous run from Evie Quinn, applying pressure early on.
Lexi Blaxland, with an incredible header from a cross come shot, smashed the ball into the back of the net, giving Moors the lead. However, it wasn’t long before Knowle levelled the scores from a corner, just minutes before the first half drew to a close.
With the second half underway, Moors continued to drive and work hard to widen the gap. However, it was Knowle who took the lead, with a curled strike from their #10, just outside the box.
Moors created many opportunities for themselves, and Evie Burke tested Knowle’s keeper more than once, just minutes before full-time. A vital chance opened up for them once again, but saw the ball sail over the bar, leaving them feeling disappointed as the referee blew the final whistle.
Despite the fantastic efforts of every player wearing yellow and blue, Moors couldn’t claw back the game ending their County Cup journey.
Solihull Moors Women are delighted to confirm the appointment of Joe Kirkland as the new first team manager.
Following an extensive recruitment process, Kirkland’s passion for developing the women ’ s game at Moors stood out amongst several other key qualities.
A new-look backroom team includes Trevor Suttcliffe, who has been appointed as assistant manager. Trevor worked with Joe previously and was pivotal in the success that they achieved together in their former club, Burton Albion.
Kirkland’s unique pathway has given him the opportunity to spend some time coaching abroad including the USA, European countries and Ghana, where he coached a top tier women ’ s team.
At his former club where he was for four years, he worked in both the men ’ s and women ’ s game and was appointed Burton Albion’s Women team manager in the summer of 2023.
Kirkland on joining the Moors:
“I’m very excited to be back in football, it’s been a weird time with me being out of the game for a couple of months, and Trevor coming in adds value to the team immediately, he’s able to help create environment where players feel supported and valued, which ultimately then contributes to performance.”
“He’s a fantastic person and I’m delighted to have him with me as part of this journey.”
Welcome on board, Joe and Trevor!
