EALES DARRYL

A warm welcome to the Cure Leukaemia Stadium for today’s game against Forest Green Rovers.

Today is a special occasion where the club is giving its support to the wonderful Cure Leukaemia charity which does so much amazing work to help and support those who fall ill with this life threatening disease.

It’s a great pleasure to welcome James McLaughlin and his team and show our appreciation for their dedication to this brilliant cause.

September is blood cancer awareness month and, next week, James is embarking on an Run the Nations adventure where he will run 224 miles across 16 locations across the UK. Each location has funded Cure Leukaemia research nurses and the aim is to raise £100,000 which will fund much needed additional research resource.

The club is delighted to be donating 10% of gate receipts from today’s game to support James. Any support you can give to help with the fund raising would be truly appreciated.

Today we have a tough challenge against Forest Green Rovers and we extend a warm welcome to their supporters and officials.

I think it’s fair to say we have had a frustrating start to the season with injuries restricting Whingy’s ability to play a settled side and our points accumulation is a little below where we would like to be.

Today launches a run of 6 games in September, a number against higher spending teams and by the end of the month, we will have a fairer assessment of our start to the season.

The good news is that the spirit and togetherness across the squat is as good as ever and Whingy is in fine form and relishing the challenge!

Today’s match sponsors are Davison’s Law with whom the club are building a great relationship. We welcome Darryl Wilkes and the team today and thank them sincerely for their brilliant support.

As I discussed last week, the role of local companies in supporting the club is crucial and any help any supporter can provide in this respect would be hugely appreciated.

Best wishes, Darryl

MATCH ACTION

James Gale's first goal in a Moors shirt was not enough to claim all three points, as they drew 1-1 to Wealdstone at Damson Park.

Gale would open the scoring after a well-worked set-piece routine. A corner was taken short by Osborne, before a cross was whipped in towards the middle of the penalty box. Gale jumped the highest an nodded the ball into the far-corner to make it 1-0.

Wealdstone equalised against the run of play. Some good passing play on the right-hand side as a dangerous cross was sent in by Enzio Boldewijn, and was turned into his own net by Alex Whitmore.

In the last minute of the game, a Moors corner fell to Bowen in the penalty box who shot towards goal and looked certain to score. However, the Wealdstone defence blocked the shot on the line as the Moors were forced to settle for a point against Wealdstone.

NEWTONSTRIKE ADVANCESMOORS

Danny Newton’s early goal was enough for Moors to secure their passage into the quarter-final of the Buildbase FA Trophy following a 1-0 victory at Stourbridge.

The striker opened the scoring after just seven minutes and, despite some late pressure from the hosts, ensured Neal Ardley’s side went into the hat for Monday’s draw.

In the process, Moors also extended their unbeaten run to six games in all competitions without conceding a single goal.

SOLIHULLMOORS FOUNDATION

As the leaves begin to change and the evenings grow cooler, we at Solihull Moors Foundation can look back with pride and gratitude at the fantastic summer we ' ve shared with our local community. It’s been a season packed with fun, fitness, and friendship, and we are thrilled to have been able to make a positive impact through our varied and vibrant programmes.

This summer, we were out and about in the local parks every Tuesday and Thursday, bringing a wave of energy and excitement to the community. Our football and multi-sport sessions were a huge hit, with children and adults alike getting stuck in and showing off their skills. The laughter, camaraderie, and sportsmanship on display were truly inspiring. Whether it was a well-timed tackle, a perfectly placed shot, or just the simple joy of being active outdoors, the smiles on everyone ’ s faces said it all.

But the fun didn’t stop there. We also introduced Pilates sessions, offering a chance for participants to stretch, strengthen, and unwind in the beautiful surroundings of our local parks.

These sessions were a great way to bring people together, with everyone from beginners to seasoned Pilates enthusiasts enjoying the chance to connect with their bodies and the community.

None of this would have been possible without the dedication and enthusiasm of our volunteers, who gave their time and energy to ensure every session ran smoothly. We extend our heartfelt thanks to each one of them.

The success of our summer programmes is a testament to their hard work and commitment to making Solihull a happier, healthier place.

SOLIHULLMOORS FOUNDATION

In addition to our park sessions, we have been hosting guided walks and cycling sessions around the scenic Elmdon Park. These activities provide a perfect opportunity for people of all ages to explore the great outdoors, stay active, and enjoy the natural beauty of our local area.

The success of the camp has left us excited and eager for our next one, and we ’ re already looking forward to welcoming even more children to our October camp.

If you ’ re interested in booking your child onto our upcoming holiday camp, be sure to check out the poster for all the details, or feel free to email us at holidaycamps@solihullmoorsfc.co.u k for more information.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, or supported our summer activities. We couldn’t have done it without you, and we ’ re excited to keep the momentum going as we move into the autumn season. Here’s to more fun, more fitness, and more community spirit!

The feedback we have received has been overwhelmingly positive, with participants expressing their appreciation for the chance to get outside, meet new people, and enjoy some gentle exercise in a supportive and friendly environment. One of the highlights of our summer was undoubtedly our holiday camp, which saw children from across the community come together for a week of fun, games, and unforgettable memories. rom football tournaments to arts and crafts, every day was packed with activities that kept the children engaged, active, and, most importantly, smiling.

SOLIHULLMOORS ACADEMY

The second years travelled to Altrincham on Wednesday, winning 4-1 on the road against the Robins

WE PLAYED SOME GOOD STUFF!

The young Moors side went a goal up inside ten minutes after Kyle Moseley fired an effort into the bottom corner with his left.

The hosts would win a penalty after Tulloch pulled down an Alty player in the box but Neeson made the save to keep the Moors ahead.

Solihull doubled their lead through Bracher, who curled his effort in from 20 yards out just before the interval.

The turning point in the second-half was in Alty broke on the counter but Farrel made a strong challenge to launch a Solihull attack instead, with Moseley finishing the attack to make it three goals to nil.

The icing on the cake was just minutes away for Moors, as Miller beat two players were taken down in the box, winning a penalty for Solihull. Moseley dispatched from the spot to score his first hat-trick of the season.

Altrincham grabbed a goal late on after some poor defending with a cross looping over the Moors defence which was then finished by the Alty forward.

ACTION SHOTS WITH ‘DICKY’

DickyKing

The latest pictures from Dicky King from our match against Wealdstone in the National League!

1/ Joe Newton on the ball running down the Moors left flank, I’ve so many of this type of picture of ‘Newts’ since he signed for Moors last season, and this season up until Jack Stevens’ injury they have combined well down that wing. I can tell how well the Moors are playing by the number of photo’s I’ve taken, if we’re not doing so well Jack and Newts are my ‘Get Out of Jail Card’ to send to the media team for a half time snap.

2/ Conor Wilkinson in ‘Full shot mode’ the picture is straight out of the can un-edited, one of them you know is going to be a gun picture as the shutter operates, Wilko is a great signing for Solihull and for me as he said “I won’t ever ask you for pictures” so all the more for Stevo and Tippo then!!!

3/ Ozzy controlling the ball, decent shots of Ozzy are hard to come by as they’re normally taken with him on the edge of the box with two or three defender around him, with not a lot of the Maestro to see. On this occasion he has received the ball from Ollie Tipton when he switched the play.

4/ Matt Warburton has just has it shot just inside the area blocked by Jack Cook at point blank range, the look on Warb’s face says all what he’s thinking.

5/ Brad Stevenson with the ball at the point of impact with his head, I do like capturing this type of picture but I like it with the ball sharpley squashed against the head, I am usually more able to get them shots during the warm up phase.
