Good evening and welcome to Damson Park as we host Aldershot Town for tonight’s fixture. To all the supporters, players, and staff of Aldershot, we extend a warm Solihull welcome.
I would also like to take this opportunity to wish their manager, Tommy Widdrington, a full and speedy recovery following his recent illness. Tommy is a well-respected figure in the football community, and our thoughts are with him and his family at this time.
Tonight presents the perfect platform to bounce back, and I know the players are fully committed to delivering a performance that reflects the pride and ambition of this football club. Aldershot will provide stern opposition, but we must focus on ourselves and seize the chance to get back to winning ways.
As we move into December, this is a pivotal period for the Moors. With a demanding schedule of fixtures, consistency and momentum will be key. A strong run of results this month could have a transformative effect on our season, and I firmly believe we have the quality, depth, and spirit in our squad to achieve this.
I would like to thank our incredible supporters for their unwavering passion and commitment. Your support, both home and away, is a vital part of our journey, and we’ll need you behind us as we aim to make this December one to remember.
Let’s stick together, stay positive, and make sure tonight is the start of something special. Enjoy the match, and as always, Up the Moors!
Reflecting on the weekend, Saturday’s FA Trophy defeat to Radcliffe was, undoubtedly, a frustrating and disappointing outcome. We entered the competition with high hopes and aspirations, and to exit in the first round is not where we wanted to be However, football often teaches us that success comes from how we respond to setbacks, and we now have an opportunity to show our resilience and character.
Mikey, a late substitution get around his marker, two great body positions, the picture tells a story. Quite lucky with the lighting here as the camera struggles with the varying light intensities during a floodlit game.
Ackeme Francis-Burrell in ‘mid-air after getting a shot off, I love to capture this type of shot and I tend to keep the camera trained onto the shot taker, and I usually rely on the crowd’s reaction as to whether the attempt has been successful or not, this usually lead me to missing capturing the ball crossing the line or a defection.
Joe Newton, the goalkeeper and a defender look skywards for the ball to come down, the conditions again playing a part in this pictures as the wind made clearing the ball from this end hard work.
Hello and a warm welcome to all home and visiting Aldershot fans to today’s game from the Solihull Moors Supporters Association.

Welcome to Damson Park, Shots fans! Thank you for travelling 124 miles to be here for tonight’s National League fixture.
Previously, the playmaker has enjoyed impressive periods at Millwall, Wolves and Oxford United. Last season, the experienced playmaker clinched promotion with Oxford to the Championship so this Aldershot coup can be considered a masterstroke within the non-league sphere.
Tommy Widdrington became Aldershot Town First-Team Manager in April 2023. The 51-year-old enjoyed a long playing career in the Football League with an abundance of Premier League appearances with Southampton. In his non-playing career, he spent five years as Manager of Eastbourne Borough and before joining Kings Lynn in December 2021, had a number of roles at Bristol Rovers during a three-year spell.
Having spent nearly all his career in the Championship and League One, James Henry’s electric form in the National League is unsurprising. In this campaign, the 35-year-old has registered eight goals and five assists.
Aldershot Town Football Club no longer has a dragon on its badge, but it does feature a rising phoenix. The new crest also includes a blue ring and the text "Aldershot Town FC The Shots"

Solihull Moors Women battled hard on Sunday but were beaten 5-0 by Sutton Coldfield Town.
Despite the rainy conditions, both teams started out positively looking to make an impression on the game. However, it was Sutton who took the lead courtesy of Niamh Deasy, as she chipped it over Zoe Millington.
Moors came close with a cross come shot from Lexi Blaxland but was tapped away by the Royals #1.
The hosts doubled their lead as the first half drew to a close, despite Millington’s fantastic block.
With the second half underway, Moors had found their footing, continuing to work hard and drive.
A third was scored for the Royals as it squirmed its way through bodies and tapped over the line by Deasy, making that her second.
It wasn’t long before an opportunity opened up the other end with a strike from Georgia Neath on the edge of the box hitting the back of the net, but after the referee’s discussion with the linesman, the goal was ruled offside.
Deasy grabbed her third after a pass from Eva Rogers found her in the box, giving her a hattrick and the Royals their fourth. Their fifth was scored in the same fashion with a pass from Rogers finding Emmalee Hornsby.
Moors continued to chase the game but despite their fantastic effort, they failed to claw back the game leaving them disappointed at full time.
