Welcome This year the Solas Conference is entitled: ‘Unashamed’ and the reason simple. One of the devils greatest strategies for keeping us quiet is to make us feel ashamed. Ashamed of ourselves, the church and sometimes even the Bible – ‘did God really say?’ is his oldest trick in the book. The opposite of shame is not a proud self-confidence, but a humble rejoicing in the beauty and glory of the Gospel. I am not ashamed of the cross, because it is the power of God for salvation. Both conferences will address this topic. In Edinburgh, Michael Ramsden, who is Britain’s foremost apologetic speaker, will think about how apologetics can help the church be unashamed in an increasingly hostile culture. Stuart Windsor of CSW will speak about being unashamed throughout the world, and David Robertson will look specifically and practically at reaching 21st Century Scotland. In the Spring of 2016, the 'Unashamed' Conference will be in Inverness and this follow up conference is aimed to inspire, encourage and resource the church in Scotland. It’s for all the Lord’s people. Today there will be praise, Bible teaching, fellowship, refreshments, prayer and a bookstall.

What is Solas? Solas Centre for Public Christianity was founded in 2010 to promote the gospel in public life - in Scotland and beyond. Distinctive in its strong evangelistic foundation of communicating the faith, it is intended to touch both the heart and the intellect of the thinkers and opinion-makers of society and to REACH and CHALLENGE those who shape the ideas of culture with the credibility of the gospel of Jesus Christ. A wide range of resources are available through the Solas website, including the Quantum of Solas podcast, a range of articles and letters in the national press, books such as "Why I Am Not An Athiest" and much more. Solas also facilitates a number of events such as debates, seminars, sermons and conferences, some of which are evangelistic and others aimed at training Christians in persuasive evangelism.
