BMW Release Limited Edition Mille Miglia Z4 To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the firm’s famous victory at the historic Italian race, BMW has created a special Z4 roadster. Grazie mille, BMW! To celebrate the 70th anniversary of the firm’s famous win at the Mille Miglia road race, it’s created a limited-edition version of the Z4 roadster. Called the Z4 sDrive 35is Mille Miglia, it’s been launched in Italy to coincide with this year’s recreation of the classic-themed event, which took place last weekend. To keep the drop-top exclusive, only 99 left-hand-drive cars will be up for grabs. The Mille Miglia edition is powered by the same 335bhp twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre straightsix as is found in the standard model. It comes equipped with an M Sports aerodynamics pack, new 10-spoke dark chrome 19-inch alloys and silver ‘Polaris’ matte paint. Other visual modifications include bright red ‘Mille Miglia’ badging which adorns the wings and the bootlid, and the trademark BMW kidney grilles have been blacked out for a more purposeful looking front-end Inside, the sports seats are finished in quilted black Alcantara and leather and contrasting red stitching. The car also gets an M Sport steering wheel, unique floor mats, ‘more Mille Miglia’ badges and special decorative trim. The victory remains one of BMW’s finest: its classic 328 Kamm Coupé took first, third, fifth and sixth places at the 1940 northern Italian race. But this is not the first time BMW’s revisited its glorious win: in 2006, it recreated the car in a modern Z4-based concept recently shown at the annual Villa d’Este concours.

It’s been 31 months since the launch of Fiat’s iconic supermini, and to celebrate reaching the half-million mark, the Italian manufacturer is producing a special showcar, called Fiat 500 Thousandth. The one-off model will be covered with 1500 photos, each image displaying the faces of Fiat 500 customers, celebrities and fans.
Golf GTI ‘adidas’ Edition
Fiat has already begun taking bookings for a place on the car, log on to www.fiat500.com to view a plan view of the Fiat 500 and submit your application and photograph. Seventy per cent of the places are reserved for Fiat 500 owners. Entrants can also attach a short text describing their relationship with the car, or a link either to a personal video on YouTube or to their personal Facebook page. The showcar will be ready three weeks after the booking stage is concluded and will feature in forthcoming events and international motor shows.
VW teams up with sports brand to create hot special edition The Golf is earning its stripes... All three of them! VW has released details and a single image of a sporty Golf GTI special edition - called the ‘adidas edition’. Born out of collaboration between VW and the German sportswear brand, the car is set to debut next week at the Worthersee Tour tuning show in Germany. Following in the tyre-tracks of other unusual models, such as the Pirelli Edition of the last-generation GTI, the adidas Edition is mechanically identical to the standard car. That means the 207bhp 2.0-litre TSI engine is carried over - along with the performance figures of 0-62mph in 6.9 seconds and top speed of 155mph. Additional features include unique 18-inch alloys, specially-designed sports seats and LED rear lights - a feature soon to be introduced as standard on all Golf GTIs; adidas branding on the seats, door sills and B-Pillars also help to mark the car out. And that isn’t the only treat VW has in store for fans at Worthersee - another Golf GTI-based Excessive Edition is also scheduled to debut. Although no pictures have been released yet, VW has confirmed that it will wear wide-boy wheel extensions, bigger sills and sit on a wider track. Upgraded brakes, revised suspension and a new lightweight exhaust as well as 19-inch wheels and semi-slick tyres should ensure a hardcore driving experience- although the 207bhp engine is untouched. Our sources have revealed that only 4,410 examples of the adidas edition will be made, going on sale in June, and there’s no word on whether the ‘Excessive’ will enter production.
