My name is David Soh and I am an architecture student at Nanyang Polytechnic. I developed my interest in design since in secondary school when there was an enrichment class about interior design. I was exposed to model making and colour schemes which were exhilarating.

I have chosen to study architecture for the past couple of years to broader my knowledge in building design both exterior and interior. Throughout my couple of years, I learned BIM and other 3D software to design my school project and find a way to improve it. Using 3D modeling, I can understand and visualize better.

Outside my design Course, I like to learn first aid in a secondary school which helped me save other people’s lives. I was gold in a first aid course and became a staff sergeant in my secondary school. Using the skill that I learned, I should always keep calm down and analyze the situations better and communicate with my group members better.

These are the spices that will influence the architectural experience and articulation in this urban cultivation setting.

In this architecture, they are able to experience the more holistic process of cultivation - propragation propagation, farming, harvesting and retail. They are able to view the roots of the plants to see how they grow, knowing different ways of farming. Visitors are also able to see the harvesting process and able to contribute to the process by of pepper grinding power. Towards the end, they are able to touch and smell the herbs and buy it. Overall they will relive the experience the process of cultivation and understanding of how herbs and spices are grown.

1. Propagating knowledge

Propagate plants - Teaches how to propagate plant cuttings for repotting in soil (from plant cutting)

2. Engage Hands-on Repotting Soil plants

Teaches how to repot new rooted plants into soil, and their required growing conditions (general planting)

03 GENIUS IN

The Genius of Nature is a design in nature to inform and reveal It is devised in the attempt to limitation of one’s ego and preconception, that is more eco-centric. In to explore the possibilities of functions/programs that are dynamics of plants and animals

IN NATURE

design process using the wisdom found reveal a new spatial order in architecture. to create works that are beyond the preconception, towards an approach this process, we are attempting of creating spaces, structures and are informed by the natural order and animals in their living context.

Return of Crumbling loading foods and storage

CLASS: YEAR 2 SEMESTER 2

TYPE: STUDIO

This is a group of community of people that steals other crops (absorbing nutrients) and grow their own crops to get more resources (decompose), store the resources (the gills is storing spores) and give back to the comminity (the spores will disperse).

In this architecture, people at ground level will help to deposit their unwanted food here to be decomposed after which the nutrients will be absorbed from the soil and plant will start to grow and they don’t run of of food easily.

The lead person in the leading control room will guide and lead the community to other spaces that require manpower. The middle part of architecture will have group of community deliver the food to the resident. The upper level will have people store their foods in the emergency storage, rest and eat at the relaxing hall.

LEANING TOWER OF NEVYANSK

INTRODUCTION

It is unique leaning tower situated in the center of nevyansk.

The height is 57.5m from the ground and the base is 9.5m x 9.5m. The deviated of the top part of the tower from a right angle is 2.20m.

BAMBOO

The average compressive strength of bamboo is approximately 14,000 pounds per square inch (psi).

Compared to concrete’s compressive strength of about 2,500 psi and that bamboo is actually a very strong material

Iron is the common usage of material in this building. It use iron rod ties through the entire width of the tower.

The top floor use of a composite beam/ flitch plate

Wrought iron joints with an old sable iron joint inbetween

Bamboo has hallow structure. The density of the fibers becomes gradually thicker from the inner to the outer surface, suggesting the outer parts are, mechanically speaking, stronger than the inner parts.

Bamboo is a soil protectant and helps prevent soil movement as it is caused by drifted soil.

JADE CIRCLE SIGNAGE

CLASS: YEAR 3 SEMESTER 1

TYPE: INDUSTRIALS PROJECTS

This is the first task i received where the client wants a moodboard for the main entrance signage and I propose some of the pictures to them. After a few weeks, they decided to choose the picture that has lighting on the backing of the signage. After that, they gave me a sample of what they wanted to be included in the signage like the logo and the type of font they want to use.

After a few tries, I made a 3D model with the sample they requested to be in and they are okay with it, I went to do AutoCAD drawing of the main signage and follow every dimension the client requested on how big the logo should be and how far apart for each logo.

CENTRE

CLASS: YEAR 3 SEMESTER 1

TYPE: INDUSTRIALS PROJECTS

The client requested to have a 3D model of the space to visualize the space and see how the outcome could have become. Here is an example of a 3D model of the space for the upcoming childcare project that I created. The software I used is sketch up and rendering is done by using enscape. There are a total of 3 different bays in this project.

Here is another 3D model that I have done using Revit software. It shows the overall layout of the toilet and to see how the phenolic door looks in the middle of the toilet plan.
