LETSGET PERSONAL
Hi friends! My name is Sofia Ramirez. Let me tell you a bit about myself. My family is from Medellin, Colombia but I was born and raised in East Cobb, Georgia. I’m known as an encouraging, positive, and a very passionate person and you can see my true colors shine through my work. As a designer, that goes hand in hand with the things I love. I’m known for talking your ear off, which I get from my hispanic family. What pushes me is challenging myself through building connections with others and speaking about what excites me about design. Excitement can't describe how ready I'm for what’s to come in the near future and hope you are apart of it!

EVERYSPACEISFUN

People believe spaces are created to only look pretty, but, thats not true. Creating a space that can be multifunctional can provide the users with the best experience they have ever imagined. Especially for students with ADHD. Creating a space that’s both a playground and a corridor where students can get from one class to another. It’s always important to consider sensory design within a space to be able to adapt a space for the users.

FURNITUREDETAIL

You can see abstract chairs that are along the wall of the corridor. Those chairs represent monkeys and their connection to one anothe These chairs are versatile in the way the move up and down but the can also be put up as art. This is what helps create a fun and playful space.

We have brought elements of nature to this space. As you can see the seats along side of the stairs, where students can go and hangout after class or if they need a break. We have considered the safety for the students by not have materials with low VOCs or any off gases within the spac stud

CLASSROOM

This wallpaper brings excitement into the space to make the kids exited to learn. The lighting isn't too bright so the students don't feel overwhelmed. There are also different seating options to give students the opportunity to select different seats so they can feel more comfortable.

This is a fun abstract wall that includes soothing colors. There are organic shapes that move from one direction to another. Organic shapes help connect the interior with nature with the curved elements. These cool colors also help balance out the warmth within the space. Also, The cool colors calms the emotions of anxiety or stress.

ITSTIMETOCHANGE

Things will always stay the same if we don’t change them ourselves. Classrooms are a great example because we see the same space layout of a classroom no matter where we are. I think it’s important to provide different options for classroom layouts to give students the opportunity to select different seats or to test out what works best for them. Doing this gives students the ability to learn and function in a classroom better.

BUILDUPPURPOSE

What a lot of people don’t talk about is why things are made, especially furniture. Spaces create importance and so does furniture design. We are creating an element for a space that needs to be functional to everyone and anyone. Creating furniture with purpose provides significant amount of attention to detail that people don’t see.

NATUREINSPIRES

Nature is a divine work of art and where our true roots as humans come from. But what derives these ideas? We are born in it, surrounded by it, and end our lives in it. It is integral to us as living beings. As designers we must consider reaching far beyond nature and looking at the environment the building is around and the culture that it’s apart of. These things are what creates that connection to our sense of tranquility within nature.
