Aging has been viewed negatively from society’s perspective. There were negative perceptions and discrimination towards the elderly. Media representations of seniors tend to be scarce, inaccurate, or framed in disempowering stereotypes. This has created an entitlement to seniors in a way that spaces designed for them are limited and catering more to their healthcare needs. However, there have not been many attempts yet to push the frontiers of architecture and carve out new types of spaces that seniors can embrace as a place to call their own. The project investigates the elderly way of life. Part 1 touches on looking through people's way of life through spaces and cultivating a community of residents looking after one another. Part 2, touches on fostering a strong community bonding among residents who share a common interest. Part 3, touches on designing elderly ‘living room space’ to the public realm.
